V-MODA XS - V-MODA M-80s upgraded - Pictures and more! [Discussion, Questions] #FirstthreadtocoverXS
Haha nice cosplay. I don't have that muscular body though =)) Yes, they are mirrored and V-MODA did it on their own. It would looks unnatural otherwise anyway. After doing some A-B with my M50, they have very opposite sound signatures, XS has dark tonality and more bass quantity for sure, the...- yamichan

V-MODA XS - V-MODA M-80s upgraded - Pictures and more! [Discussion, Questions] #FirstthreadtocoverXS
Only more portable and better build quality + design, Sound quality and comfort wise, my M50 wins hands down. M50 has larger soundstage, more airy, sweet midrange, and much better treble extension (very sparkle). On the other hand, XS has more upfront and neutral midrange (M50 is a bit...- yamichan

V-MODA XS - V-MODA M-80s upgraded - Pictures and more! [Discussion, Questions] #FirstthreadtocoverXS
Mine just arrived this morning, sexiest and toughest on-ear headphones I have ever seen Sound quality is great so far, I love the midrange, smooth upfront. I wish it could be a bit colored like my M50 though. Treble is much better and not rolled off like M80 And here's another big fan of Fairy...- yamichan

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
To me AD900x headband fits much better than AD900, which I think the headband is too loose I can't even feel the "wings" of AD900x on my head at all and it wouldn't slide down or bulge on my head. On other note, I have to agree that AD900x on open box sounds seriously congested. I couldn't...- yamichan

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
Quote: I assure you that AD900x will have much better low end than AD900. Last time I auditioned AD900, I thought the sound was way too thin and lifeless, not so with my AD900x, bass is tight and midrange sounds pretty full.- yamichan

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
Quote: I just read his review and it seems the only thing that E12 won over c421 is bass. However, what I'm looking for is cleaner midrange and larger soundstage 'cause my E10 adds a little too much warmth to AD900x and the ss is even worse than plugging directly to my iPad. His review...- yamichan

The discovery thread!
Received my AD900x yesterday, been burning them for around 15 hours already. Sound out of the box does not really impress me much going from my white M50, I actually found my M50 sound cleaner than AD900x. I hope after fully burn-in (100 hours??), it will be like what Dsnuts reviewed. Well my...- yamichan

The discovery thread!
Got one on order from cdjapan for around 207$ (250$ shipping). Hope that AD900x will blow my M50 away. Given the price on amazon to be 2x of M50's, I expect sound quality is also 2x better, lol- yamichan

Quote: Say, how do you feel about the bass on AD900x compare to AD700. Last time I tried AD700, the bass is seriously too weak for my liking Can you compare the bass on AD900x and HD595? HD598 bass was good so I guess 595 should be the same.- yamichan

$200 Over-Ear Headphones
If you plan to wear it 6 hours a day, HD598 is the way to go. The other two are really uncomfortable, I can hardly wear them for more than 30 minutes- yamichan

Audio Technica updates their open headphones "AD" Series: AD2000x, AD1000x, AD900x, AD700x and AD500x
Quote: I heard that AD1000 is only a marginal upgrade over AD900 whereas AD2000 has different sound signatures than the lower tier. Hence, that's maybe why people prefer AD900/ AD900x and 2000- yamichan

Sennheiser 598? Shure 840?
Quote: From your criteria, HD598 would be the best choice as they offer much better sound quality and gaming, movie experience than the other two due to larger soundstage. Comfort of HD598 is also miles ahead of them. Your XB700 should have much more bass than these cans though...- yamichan
