This is my first Audio-Technica but I fell in love with it straight away. I wonder what their next new headphone will be like.. will definitely be keeping an eye out for any news.

I love my A900X. I think they are a fantastic all around headphone. Some people have issues with the comfort, but I am not one of them. I love the 3d wings on these cans, this style of headphone is the most comfortable headphones out there for me. I have a rather big head so the clamp of the headphones would keep them on my head, in place, even if the wings were not there. The wings are just the cherry on top for me, they make them so super comfortable. I've never liked the normal band that most headphones have, I'm not sure if it's the angle of the headphones or the shape of my head but they always tend to just dig in and leave marks. After a few hours they always become unwearable, until I grabbed my A900X. I can literally leave these headphones on for hours and hours (I've worn them for 6, 7, even 8 hours at a time on occasion) and they never become uncomfortable for me. I do see how some people will not like the comfort level, if I had a smaller head and more hair 

 I might be in the same boat, but as is they are the perfect fit for me.
 
I also love the sound quality LOL, they sound amazing at this price point and are a wonderfully balanced headphone for all genres of music. They have a nice sound stage for closed headphones, the bass performance is solid but not overpowering or fatiguing, the mids are solid and the highs are crisp. I listen to a ton of different music from electronic to hip hop, to country to classical, r&b, reggae, rock and anything in between and these headphones perform well with everything. I pair my ATH A900X with a Fiio E17 most of the time and use a slightly boosted low end. I'm certainly not as basshead, but I do prefer my sound to come across slightly warm with a little bass emphasis. 

I've tried out many headphones in this price range and I'm yet to hear anything I like more the the A900X, for me it just does everything right. In the future I'd definitely like to check out some of Audio Technica's higher end cans, right now money just won't allow it. As for the A900X, I couldn't give it a recommend it more highly.

The ATH phones are also very comfortable for me; previously I used DT990s and while they were also pretty good, I found that after a few hours, the pressure from the middle of the headband would make the crown of my head a little sore. With the wing system, the top of my head is just left in open air, which totally eliminated that soreness.
 
Mani ATH 87, I do hope you get to experience the higher end phones, I can tell you the W3000s are certainly my favourite headphones and an absolute joy to behold

When they're not on my head, mine are treated like kings in a big microfibre blanket.. almost definitely overkill but I'm paranoid about causing even a small scratch on them.

I just wounder why W2002's and W11JPN 's price is so low on Headfi,
Even though not in good condition, W2002 wouldn't cheaper than 90,000JPY on Yahoo Japan Auction.
A W2002 in good condition is always over 120,000JPY,even without the original box.(The last mint one with full boxing was over 140,000,if my memory serves)
So do W11JPN, a good one is always over 90,000JPY.

I think Japanese people look at products differently. Most people here are interested in headphones primarily for the sound quality, which I reckon has been surpassed by a lot of other headphones. I borrowed my friend's AT woody collection (2x W10 models and the W11JPN) and I wasn't really that impressed with them. He ended up selling off his collection soon after.  The most impressive woody for me has been the latest W3000ANV, but I ended up selling it. Right now I'm thinking of getting the AD2000X as they are what I'm after from an AT: The intensity of the AD2000, but with more refinement.

note, that this is only list of prices I could get from here, some of them are really old. There were several closed threads with some of those rare woodies where actual price was deleted afterwards, thus impossible to know for how much they were sold. I was just interested to see something like price list, or at least close to it, It was done for my own use at first. But after seeing this thread I thought some people may want to know that as well, I didn't mean it to be some kind of guide.
