Koss Sportapro vs KSC-75
To me, the KSC75 with the Parts Express headband sounds the same as the Sportapro, but the Portapro sounds thicker, warmer, and bassier than the Sportapro and KSC75- potterpastor

COMPARISON / REVIEW (Part Deux) : A tale of two Sennheisers – HD600 vs HD650
I have the 600 and the 650 also, and I like the more dynamic 600 55% of the time and the richer, warmer, bassier 650 about 45% of the time. How’s that for decisiveness? But I also have the Grado RS2E, and I like it better than either Sennheiser, it is so clear and dynamic and it has a pinch of...- potterpastor

NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S
I have the 600, the 650 and the HE400S, And I almost always reach for the 600 and 650 because they’re more in my wheel house, they are richer, warmer, with better low end, better impact. And for me, they respond better to Captune eq than the HE 400S. They are better built and more comfortable...- potterpastor

COMPARISON / REVIEW (Part Deux) : A tale of two Sennheisers – HD600 vs HD650
no point of buying the 650 if you do not have a headphone amplifier. Get HD 1 over ear or HD 569,or get a 650 with the intention of investing in a headphone amplifier- potterpastor

Sennheiser's Momentum 2.0 aren't actually that good...
I have the M2 over ear wired and I think they sound rich and warm and dark, like the Shure SE 215 iem or the HD650 open back. if you like bright, neutral or analytical or flat headphones, you probably won't want these. But if you like the SE 215 or 650, then come on down!- potterpastor

Sennheiser HD 598 Impressions Thread
I agree with those comparisons, that was excellent. I also noticed that my 598 has a lot of distortion when I turn up the volume on my stereo receiver. The driver is apparently not as high fidelity as something like the HD 700. Plugged into a MacBook or a tablet or phone, no distortion. Just...- potterpastor

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 or M2 Wired
I bet they would sound better. I have the M2 also.I feel that they are accentuated in the upper mid range so that vocalists are in your face and fatiguing and annoying when the volume is turned up more than halfway. I love the bass and the refinement on that headphone, but I have to play it at...- potterpastor

[quote . To me the M2 has a bit of sibilance, a bit boomy or bloated on the bass, and the construction feels a notch below the others. And I can hear inside the right ear cup every time the cord touches something. Very irritating. So I think the M2's will finally go back. I also have the...- potterpastor

Sennheiser HD598 vs Momentum
Pretty interesting. Good analogies. The 598 definitely seems more three-dimensional. After listening to the 598, the Momentum 1.0 seems like a bassy headphone. But after listening to the M2 or the M100 for a while, the original Momentum sounds more neutral and a even a bit bass light. My brain...- potterpastor

Sennheiser HD598 vs Momentum
These are two very different headphones. But the Momentum 1 and 2 are smoother and more refined than the 598, which has a lot of distortion at high volumes connected to a stereo receiver. Connected to a tablet or a phone or a MacBook, the 598 keeps pace very well with its wide-open soundstage.- potterpastor

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 Over ear review
Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 over ear I like the soft leather ear cups that cover over my ears, the portable fold up design, and I like the detachable cable. But I do wish the detachable cable was made a little bit better, like with the original Momentum. The cable on the 2.0 tangles and twists more...- potterpastor

COMPARISON / REVIEW (Part Deux) : A tale of two Sennheisers – HD600 vs HD650
I have both the 600 and the 650. The 650 is warmer sounding. Plugged into my Yamaha RX479 receiver, listening to Tidal, I prefer the 650's lush, lovely, and dynamic sound. It's the way I want my music to sound, it just sounds right to me.For the same reason, I like the original Momentum plugged...- potterpastor

NEW 2015 - HIFIMAN HE400S
I'm a huge fan of the 400S, they sound so clear and spacious and detailed! They are probably the best sounding out of all my headphones. I think they sound even better when I use the treble eq on Spotify. The build quality leaves a little bit to be desired, but they are comfortable enough and...- potterpastor

I have owned or heard all of those headphones except the T 51. The MDR1A definitely belongs in the conversation. I don't think it stands head and shoulders above this group, but it belongs in there with the group. It is a good buy.- potterpastor
