Yeah... I don't believe it's confirmed anywhere but Amazon, which gets product info wrong all the time. I'd wait for official specs.

Actually, the Zune will output at 640x480. So, you can have vids that are 640x480 on the Zune, and be able to output them at that resolution, without the need for the software to convert them to 320x240. And there's a big difference between 3.2 and 3.5. Larger than one would think.

Ok I just found out that the zune ONLY supports WMV 320x240 natively... the zune software will always down-convert any video higher than this resolution when synchronizing.

This is only true for the Zune 30. The flash based Zunes will not output video, and the Zune80 will ouput at 480p.

I am greatly looking forward to this player as my work carries the Zune and I just got a gift card that will cover most of the cost. Barring a huge sound change from the first to second zune, I'll be picking one up near release day. Been looking for a new DAP since mine is about four years old.

i think the greatest thing microsoft is doing with the zune is that the zune 1 will be receiving the same features as zune 2. Unlike the ipod where you have to buy a new one every 6 months they dont leave the previous users in the dust.

and? we're comparing the hard drive players video output. comparing the flash players video output is a bit trivial since the zune flash players don't even offer it.

i was really wondering why lucky said the zune supports 480p, when i haven't seen that anywhere.
