May I ask which cable you using with ZMF Verite?

I would believe that that would be a custom copper cable, that would be from Verus Audio.
Yup, its Verus Audio, local custom modder.

The cable is stiff. still ok for stationary listening...

Soundwise, not like copper, more like silver, tight, & clean...

Hi, I'd like to try the Lokius with my HP setup, but would you explain how I set the Lokius up in my system. I'm using A Dave DAC and a Rogue Audio RH-5 HP amp/pre-amp. I'm trying to understand the input/output hook up from DAC to Lokius and Lokius to HP amp. Thanks, James
Hi James, think I'm about to open a can of worms here.... I'm bit of a purist thinking less is more so I don't use software/hardware eq that may filter information away such as micro details...
but for your question, I think it's a straight XLR out from Dave -> XLR in on Lokius, XLR out -> XLR in on RH5..... so Lokius acts as a signal passthrough and alter device, all you need is an extra pair of XLR cables, preferably the same pair you're using now as to minimize the change of sound signature

Thanks for your response. It's very helpful. I haven't yet decided whether to buy a Lokius unit, but the Loki mini+ received very favorable reviews that it got me interested enough to consider it, but I do understand the point you're making about less is more and keeping the signal pure. At the price it might be worth trying it out. Thanks again!

with your grade of equipment, i think a pair of XLR cable cost more than the Lokius lol

Simplified my current desktop rig, and now these two will accompany me for the next 2 weeks of lockdown time.

Does the Hugo 2 hold its own vs your desktop rig with the VOs ? You seem to be using the Verite Silver cable, does it make it bright with the Hugo 2 ?

Verite has awesome synergy with hugo 2, I use amp mostly for Diana phi, and there are times use Verite direct with Hugo 2 unless too lazy to move the chord to get closer to me then i would plug it to amp.

Tried with zmf verite silver, zmf michanikos silver, and effect audio ares 2+, all of them sound great on Verite, really depend on the listener taste and mood.

Any thoughts on cleaning ZMF suede pads? I think mine are getting a little musty smelling, I gave them a wipe down with unscented baby wipes, but I think they need a full bath...
Mine are also in the same boat, I have tried using water (Very lightly) and it takes for ever for them to dry, but they are still a bit dirty. Been debating no using soap, but then that would involve a lot more water, as you would have to rinse them after. So they would take forever to dry, but they would be clean.
I am also interested if anyone has any better suggestions

Using a lint remover every few times you use them when new is the best way to keep the surface clean.

I am not entirely sure how to clean them after extended use though, possibly some kind of rug brush or cleaner? I havent tried it though.

When I googled how to clean suede:
"Head to the pantry for some white vinegar. Pour a little bit onto a clean, dry cloth, and rub the vinegar into the stained suede. You want to dampen the suede, not soak it. Let the suede air dry, and then brush the spot to remove any lingering marks"

Try it at your own risk. :p

One note - our suede earpads are vegan - so anything used should be for man made materials.
