Hello, I need some help deciding which pads to get for my VO.

For the universe that comes with headphones, should I get suede or leather? Also I'm planning to get 2 pairs of hybrids, universe and be2.

Any recommendations?

After getting Caldera and currently owning Sapele VO, I am planning to give my old pheasantwood Verite Open to my dad, since he never would buy such an expensive headphone himself and somewhat want to get him into hifi. The problem now is the chain. Which mid budget relativly amp with preferably small footprint would work well with Verite? Dac pairing will be Cayin idac6-mk2. He prefers warmer / full sound.

Cayin iHA-6 would be a good choice for SS, Icon hp8 mk2 is a great option if you want tubes. Magni Piety is also a good budget option that punches above its price point (if you can get your hands on one that is). What’s your budget?

The Violectric 202 or 222 may be worth a look

Yeah I more looking for something on the cheaper side of things, to get him into the hobby :)

Later he can look into Feliks OTL amps or Cayin HA-3A.. I was considering Cayin iHA-6, is it confirmed to sound good with Verite?

I have burson soloist 3x around which I use for office setup, maybe I try it first..but remember disliking the sound with Verite back in the day.

Is there a service for headphone portraiture? Do I need to send all my gear to a studio somewhere or are there travelling photographers that come to your space and shoot candids of your gear? Why is there so much eye candy in an audio hobby? This must be part of some underground marketing campaign.

Cayin IHA-6 indeed.

Other options are Topping A90D or Schiit Jotunnheim 2. If possible (for budget and size) just go for Cayin HA-3A.

Interesting theory. I do help my friends to capture photo of their headphones, with one requirement only: I have to like the headphone personally (either sound or looks).
