Has anyone tried both Pilot and Co-Pilot pads to provide some context to how they differ or how one might be a better application?

I prefer my silver cable vs my copper cable with the Ironwood VC. There is not a huge difference between them IMO, but I did A/B at some point. Mine use Neotech UPOCC copper/silver. FWIW - don't go silver plated or hybrid IMO.

I agree, don't buy silver plated copper cables. I never tried hybrid cables. I usually go with UPOCC silver or UPOCC copper.

I did A/B and I couldn't hear any difference. S3 silver cable from Norne vs BlackWidow copper cable from ToxicCables.
I would recommend good copper cable. Invest saved money in better amp / dac or more ZMF earpads !

While changing cable has so much fun (I enjoy it too!), have to admit, changing pads definitely give more drastic change.

Wow they look great with contrast with all black. Every bit as good as the wine ones and much better than other woods with all black to me.

Thanks! I'm very happy with the aesthetics, Zach and Bevin did a great job as always! I must have changed my order about 5 times from wine to black and several pad changes. I'm glad Bevin was so nice every time I changed my mind. I just listened for about an hour and I got lost in music. I'm using the Auteur lambskin pads and the tonality in my system is very natural.

Your setup sounds like mine: GOTL, GEC 6J5s, Bendix 6080s and ... VCs! I even used to have an RME ADI2 DAC (not the pro). Very nice all in all.

The DAC you replay the RME with is from SW1x? I'd love to learn more about your DAC; I'll drop a message.

Another great review, congratulations @zach915m, I can't wait to hear your next creation! Of all of the headphones I've listened to, the Verite Open and Closed remain the best, my all-time favorites. I have a minor quibble with the review; I believe the VC is more than just the closed version; it stands on its own merits. There is enough difference between the two merits owning both (God is good!).

Given my very favorable experience with a cable I just got from Zach for my HiFiMAN HE1000, I'll almost certainly be ordering an upgraded cable. Chain right now: home computer > arcam irDAC > small Parasound equalizer > MicroZOTL 2 amplifer > headphones. Zach recommends the 2K Copper.

Has anyone compared the Verite Silver with the 2K Copper for the Verite Closed headphones?

I ordered a pair of VC camphor burl LTD edition 2 weeks ago. I hope mine is one of the ones Zach is currently making to take pics for the website. The anticipation and sheer uncontrollable excitement is the worst part of ordering a ZMF headphone LOL, especially for an impatient child like myself

Congrats! Camphor burl is beautiful looking. My Eikon is that and it's stunning. I like it even more than my Desert Ironwood VC!

When I had my loaner VC though, I preferred using the 2K Copper.
