A short video we shot in the fall here at ZMF highlighting some of the processes done to make the Omni:

Also - MassDrop will be presenting the ZMF x Vibro MK II Rusted Zebra edition tomorrow AM.

Also, everyone has been going crazy over the Cocobolo, don't forget about Bocote!   It's a beautiful and magnificent sounding wood.  I have 8 sets available.  Only 4 Cocobolo left.

There is no way both of these headphones will stay here at my desk, they have too many of the same strengths. I have been waiting for a long time to hear them both together.

First I had the LCD2 and not the Omni, Then the LCD2 broke when I was triying to mod it and the Omni was here for a while. Now I have both finally up and running. the grill mod I did to the LCD2 helps it. So far the vocals are more distant with the Omni but it has a more unique and satisfying soundstage on some songs. Anyway we will see....

umm I can see keeping both for sure now. similar strengths, dif weaknesses. I am reminded of how much power the Omni likes...

Man, Zach, awesome video man! I was also not at all surprised to see your Vibros sell out basically instantly on massdrop :)

Grizz, those Omni are other-worldly. PM me if you decide you need to downsize!

Can anyone offer some comparisons of the Omni's treble relative to other headphones? Some of the headphones I've heard that I would consider to have a darker sound include the Audeze LCD-2.1, NAD VISO HP50, and Meze 99. Of those, I found the LCD-2.1 far too subdued in the treble, the HP50 was about the bare minimum quantity of treble that I'd like, and the Meze 99 was about right -- just enough to convey detail and clarity without ever being harsh or fatiguing. Can anyone compare the Omni's treble quantity, extension, and perceived smoothness to any of these three?

I also briefly heard the LCD-2.2 and LCD-3 in meet conditions (several years ago, so probably the non-fazor versions) and thought these were pretty good in treble quantity.

I'm kind of interested in the Omni as a potential complement to my HD800S. I think what I'm looking for is a headphone with a stronger bass foundation and a bit weightier, more forward mids. I don't really like dark sounding headphones though, which is why I'm asking about the treble.  Upper mids and treble are so hard to get right! Too little and the headphones sound unnatural and closed in, too much and they get unpleasant real fast!

I think the Omni will suit you well. The treble is slightly rolled off to avoid sibilance but I find its presence still very strong with its extension. The bass and forwarded mids define these headphones so you really can't go wrong with them - especially if you seek to complement a HD800S.

I have a LCD-2.1 and Meze 99 here right now, but no Omni at the moment.  I had to send back my review unit (

) and my new one isn't ready yet.  But I will say from memory that I think the Omni's treble will suit your needs.  In fact, I will be using the Omni to complement my HD800 so I think we're on the same page there.  I'll be getting probably Blackwood or Bocote.

My one complaint about the Omni is that it didn't have enough treble extension and sparkle. This can be adjusted somewhat with the dampening materials and pads. For me my LCD-2f delivered what I needed more in the treble department, so I kept it over the Omni.

What amp are you using?  From memory, the LCD-2f I owned was stuffy and closed sounding from lack of treble.  I am surprised you found it brighter than the Omni.

Coming from a DT990 and HE400i, I feel that the Omni has really good extension and isn't all that rolled off at all - just to a comfortable level to prevent sibilance. What amp are you using? I feel a warm amp pairing with the Omni can stifle it, same goes for any ZMF headphone.

Used an H10 and LC when I had both Omni/2f.

My 2f is a newer production model (Oct '15), from what I've read they've improved quite a bit since the first 2f's released. Not sure if I got one with the silent revision drivers though. Still haven't heard officially when they started implementing those.
