ZMF November is here! Release Schedule and Time-line
Nov 19, 2021 at 1:29 AM Post #241 of 845
@zach915m when you said all headphones ordered during ZMF November would come with the Crescent band, does did you mean only the limited ones, or any headphone? If any headphone, would it be possible to modify my late October Aeolus order?
Only the new ones that are built to order. All pre-built b-stock models will have the other headband.
Hehe sorry to be bothersome, but any news on when the Stabilized VC pictures (non Epoxy) will be up?

Really wanna see both sets before I pull the trigger 😅
Stabilized will not be up before the Resin sets, sorry, we haven't finished building them yet unfortunately.
Are all the Magnesium chassis and grills now sometimes silver or black or brass colored in Epoxy VO releases?
They are varied, the brass and copper are uncoated and will tarnish with time, but we did not pre-age them. Steel and Black will not tarnish.
On the sites shop. At the top of the page click the magnifying glass and type in “cam” without the quotes. It will have a drop down with all the B-stocks.
No model names or prices, but pictures of all of them are up.
ZMF November link is up, we will update the page further tomorrow with an email as well.

What time are the B stock going on sale? I don't seem to be getting the release emails :frowning2:.

How about the resin ones tomorrow? I didn’t get an email either with the time.

We haven't sent out any emails yet as I try not to spam people. I will send one tomorrow, saturday and sunday as a reminder and just before each release.

The Epoxy resin will be released at 10AM CST on SAT, and the B-Stock at 10AM CST on Sunday. The stabilized won't be until 12.3 at 10AM CST.

@zach915m

Hi Zach, will the B Stocks have a good explanation (or close up via the pics) of the defect when the release goes active. A B stock is a possibility for me if its not a huge defect like a split. I‘ve bought a couple of rarities in the past, but some of B Stock look pretty good this year. Thanks.

You can also get a peek at the rarities by searching for 'rarities'! Looks like a lot of beautiful sets are going to be for sale this weekend.

I have to say though, as nice as the epoxy resin looks on the VC, I think it works even better on the VO... something about the grill in the middle that makes it more subtle I think.

Our take on the b-stock is that if you're someone who may be bothered by some kind of wear, repair or inconsistency then a new headphone may be the best choice. While the b-stock headphones are generally extremely nice and without major aesthetic issue, some of them do have repaired splits and the like.

We won't be picturing every flaw but there will be that singular picture of the headphone.

I handled all of these myself, and would generally say these are in nice shape.

We do say that we won't warrant aesthetic issues on these, but if it's something that keeps the headphone from functioning properly, we will always fix it under warranty.

I've been wanting to do the stabilized and resin in VO for a long time but we had to get our new CNC up and running for it! I am also super pleased with how they turned out!

@zach915m Looking at the Camphor Burl Aeolus in rarities. Is the price correct?

The Aeolus is the same price as a Verite or VC?

But what metal are they on the VO epoxy? Mg coated black, silver , brass? or is hardware not Mg unless in black. This is an important clarification as initial product description say all VO epoxy are Mg chassis but yet the surrounding grills and other hardware is multiple colors. Are these all Mg construction or are some brass and steel etc.? thanks

I bought what was described as a B-stock Ori a few years back and to my (admittedly untrained) eyes there were no blemishes at all, so I would not hesitate to buy another ZMF B-stock headphone.

The Mg designation has never referred to the rods or grill. I think just the headband parts (aside from the rods-black always being the lightest) and gimbals are Mg vs aluminum. I believe he also said these will all have Mg by default, which is nice since it's a $250 upgrade, so that helps explain some of the increased cost of the epoxy ones. For those concerned about paint chipping, I have 3 Mg chassis and since I'm careful not to bonk other things when I move them I've never had the paint chipping issue, aside from spec-sized bits which are easily concealed with the right pen.

Oh yeah now I get it! Yes the Chassis is MG. Since we changed the radius of the edges on the gimbals and changed finishing process about 10 months ago we have rarely had any complaints about any paint issues. Also PSA - only use Vibra-Tite VC3 if ever re-thread locking the MAG chassis.

@zach915m - In what quantities are those rarities / LTD editions available? I've got my eye on some of those Camphor Burl ones, but I do wonder how quick I'll need to be to have any chance of snatching one.

Thank you for response. Once released will the B stock headphones have a brief reason for the defect listed.
