ZMF November is here! Release Schedule and Time-line

@zach915m I noticed on the "headband, strap & earpad material" options have changed and no longer allow for mixing of materials. I normally opt for a leather headband and suede strap. Will this be something we can request on the "add a note to your order" box on the shopping cart page?

Unfortunately we realized for inventory purposes that allowing the "half leather" option really messed us up on the back end and made for a lot of extra admin work that otherwise would be easier if the straps were kept together. So going forward they will only be made to match each other when built as a new headphone - sorry about that!

Understood. Hopefully, the Crescent Strap with leather suspension strap will be my new favorite. Have any reviewers had a chance to try out the Crescent Band yet? I'd love to hear some user feedback before I choose it over the standard headband.

Sorry if this has been asked already, but any chance the wooden box will be available separately? Or will it only be an add on when buying headphones?
Edit: Misread your question. I think you can always contact Zach and order a wooden case, though I have never seen it listed separately on the site.

@zach915m is that price correct for the VC African Blackwood? LTD same as the stock price?

I was thinking the same thing. I was hoping it was a ZMF November special price!
Oh whoops - because the product wasn't live - it wasn't pulling the price from the product configurator. I fixed it, sorry about that, it's the same price as the LTD Open.

We have been working all year to get the wood cases made faster, and we do have a semi-regular flow of them right now, but in order to keep them in stock for Stabilized headphones, we can't offer them with Stock and LTD quite yet. But we will be able to sell them a-la-carte at some point.

How much does 34gr less weight matter with this new headband? Is it even noticable?

I tend to only be able to feel it when wearing them if I am leaning or not sitting straight, which can be a lot I guess! You can feel it when holding it in your hand more than wearing them. If you tend to wear your headphones for more than two hours at a time, the weight can be more noticeable.

The Crescent band "cradles" the head with 6 cushions of varying height in a pattern to focus pressure away from the top of the head and more spread out to the sides. Combined with the strap it does a fantastic job, but it's hard to speak to any individual user as far as what will subjectively matter or not.

I find that wearing a baseball cap helps with pretty much every pair of headphones I have, but I don't own anything that is especially heavy.

Don't know if this is all psychobillyalogical, or there's some actual physics at work too. (Not that it matters, in this kind of issue, perception is reality.)

@zach915m Random question, is the female tiny XLR connection on the bottom of the cups always silver in color? I could have sworn I saw some that were copper/goldish in color. I’m thinking about going with stainless steel rods on a Blackwood VC and wanted to make sure the headphone termination on the cups would match. And yes, I realize this is extremely nitpicky!

Oh no worries - and yeah they are all silver/steel in color. There may have been a couple pics out there with a warm/low color temp that made the tiny XLR look more brass-ish.
