I have the opportunity to get a used CO for 35% cheaper (used), but I had listener to the CC and was pleasantly surprised. I only intended to audition the Bokeh with my Kann Max and compare it to my AC. I didn’t like the Bokeh much. But I tried the CC on the Kann and was wowed.

I am sooo undecided if I should get the CC or CO to complement my Susvara and AC.

There's no wrong choice here, but CC will offer more distinct sound compared to Susvara

I've been listening to AC, AO, CC, and CO and they all synergize exceptionally well with the Aegis.

Agree on that. Caldera closed however, the only ZMF that I prefer to use the lowest impedance setting on Aegis. The other ZMFs, I like the most with Medium Impedance setting.

I also listen to the CC on low impedance and the Bokeh as well.

I go between low and medium impedance on the CC. That may change as I haven't started tube rolling yet. Still doing a little bit of research before I start buying NOS tubes.

I still can enjoy med impedance setting for intimate slower pace songs, but in general, lowest impedance setting provide more clarity and better speed that synergise Caldera Closed well.

CC's arrived today, took 12 weeks to get to me in Australia.

Worth. The. Wait.
Instantly the best cans I have (Utopia22, Atrium/Verite Closed, Arya, Radiance, Clears).

The isolation is good without feeling like a pair of earmuffs, it cuts out the crazy noise of my computer fan when it gets wound up.

The sound is magical, very detailed, and everything just sounds exactly right.
I'm not a teary man but shed a couple listening to my fav songs, haven't even had a whiskey yet.

I was worried about treble as i get tinnitus but they aren't getting to me.
I'm running them off the Sparkos Aries which is clean & neutral with the stock pads and mesh so if the treble was going to bother me it would be already with that setup.
I still have all the other pads and the mighty Folkvangr to test them out on.

I can pick something wrong with every pair of headphones I own, but with the CC's I don't think there is anything.

Should have charged me double.

I've noticed they don't aggravate my tinnitus like a lot of other closed backs do. For me the Stealth, Atticus, and even the CO cause that more.

🤫 Don’t say that! (At least not until after ZMF November!)

Great write-up and so glad you are feeling the emotions expressed by the music through your Caldera Closeds. I really look forward to joining the “CC Owner’s Club”.

I love my LCD-5, but I am strongly considering trying to replace it with the CC. Even with a reasonable ammount of treble EQing, my tinnitus still tends to act up a bit after I listen to it. And for everything I’ve read about it, they have comparable performances in the detail, transparency and instrument separation departments.

My Black &White ebony #7 have landed!………Wood cups nicer than I expected compared to the ZMF release photos..reminds me of a lightning storm.
Burning them in before critically comparing to my CO oak which i absolutely love.

I'm still waiting for the Caldera Closed red heart, ordered it about 6 weeks ago.
I wonder if anyone here, can compare it with Dan Clark E3
Thank you in advance
No comparison. The CC is a couple classes above. E3 in comparison feels more neutral, leaner and uninteresting. CC is thick, organic, yet technical enough. Overall, a better headphone. IMO.

I don't own the E3 but if it's anything like the Expanse, it needs a tube amp to bring out the best. On SS it sounds good but not exciting. It needs tubes to kick it out of that too neutral/harmon curve and give the Expanse that toe tapping excitement.

I don't listen to the Expanse as much as I used too since I've become a bit of a ZMF fanboy these days, but it's still a damn fine headphone on tubes and the most comfortable set of cans I own.
