Also a good spot. I’ll get my Caldera Open out of its case and listen to it later. I’m testing a Feliks Envy at the moment and enjoying what I’m hearing. Caldera’s turn tonight after I’ve eaten. There, managed to mention Caldera 3 times in 3 different sentences. Maybe introduce my Verité Closed also to the Envy. Ha, that’s Closed also mentioned. Unfortunately I won’t be able to mention Caldera or Closed in the same sentence () as I don’t yet own one, and that could also be a long time in the future as I’m saving for a Raal Immanis right now. Hopefully my overly ebullient verbosity has bought you enough time to squeeze out a few more units. Now where’s that Moderator?

the Envy is a really great pairing for the Caldera (didn't get to try it with the CC though). good choice..

Ah…..cracked the code…..I know what you’ve done now. In the distance is the tertiary cone that’s erupting while in the foreground is the stupidly oblivious man who is sitting in what is ……..(drum roll)…..The Caldera. The design of the Caldera Closed is from the viewpoint of the man sitting in the Caldera with the cone, as depicted on the cup of the CC, clearly visible in the distance. I think my revelation is worthy of winning “Free Gift of the Month”. I’ll take a CC in some crazy exotic finish as my gift please.

Might I very respectfully point out, as an owner of a VC and CO, that this headphone is called the ‘Caldera’ and not the ‘Volcano’. The volcano is the upward facing triangular pointy thing that belches out fire and smoke and noxious gases, the Caldera on the other hand is what’s left after the volcano has collapsed in on itself after the magma chamber has emptied itself and left a vast underground chamber. Unable to support the weight of the big pointy thing it disappears into the hole and what remains mostly no longer looks like a volcano. You American cousins of mine have your own famous Crater Lake as an example of what often happens to a caldera after it has formed.

And within calderas there can be many volcanic cones as there are in the Kileaua caldera up the road from me. Haleakala is a massive caldera with many large volcanic cones. Volcanic cones can also be well outside the caldera on the flanks, such these one which developed 6 years ago in the middle of a neighborhood 5 miles from me. Calderas aren't just a remnant after a volcano forms but can exist for hundreds of thousands of years while still active.
