ZMF Bokeh - Open Back Headphones

Nov 30, 2024 at 3:28 PM Post #91 of 1,724
30 minutes in, and I have never said "Wow!" out loud, this many times before.

These aren't even burned in yet, and I can already tell they are very special headphones. The air in the mids and lifelike timbre is incredible already, and the detail is stunning. They sound quick, and snappy with good punch, and very well balanced top to bottom with pin point imaging. Vocals are breathy, and fully fleshed out, while they float right out in front of me. These headphones are absolutely beautiful with female vocals.

Just wanted to pop in and give a quick impression, and will report back after some good burn-in. I can't wait for me people to hear these, and Zach has really outdone himself once again.

Back to musical bliss. . .
Hey Wes,
what about the Bass? 🤔

Gah! I am trying not to spend more for ZMF November. I really want to hold out for the stabilized/resin/ltd versions.

Any chance anyone knows what the introductory price may be? If under a grand I may bite.

Not final, but I believe it will be right around that.

Awesome! I knew I have to have it when I demoed it at CanJam SoCal! What pads and mesh that come with the stock?

Will it be limited to first 250 units like the Bokeh closed?

I don’t want to speak out of turn, so let me double check first.

Ok, just verified. $999 pricing and it will be $899 at launch. I assume that’s for the first 250 units.

Do you happen to know the release time on Monday? 8:30CST?

I assume so, but it’s not like a drop. I would expect everybody who wants one will be able order.

I know you love female vocals, and I think the sound of this headphone is right up your alley.

As for the stock pads and mesh, I have not taken the pads off yet to verify the mesh, but the stock pads are hybrids.

How do they compare to the other ZMFs you have/heard including the bokeh?

You convince me to grab the Bokeh Open. Tell Zach and team to get ready. I'll have 1 more order they gotta ship to my address.

Ill just pick up a green stablized flake Open similar to my Closed down the the road.

Wow. It’s been a while since I dived under the 1k mark.

Are there any LE launch releases to mark the Bokeh? How about a bundle with one other orders? 😛

The Bokeh Open will surprise you, with their technical abilities despite the price. I jumped from the Caldera Closed to the Bokeh Open yesterday, and did not feel anything was lacking. Obviously, they each have their own unique tuning and strengths, and one is open and the other closed, but I wouldn't rank one over the other. This is quite the feat, and I am excited for those who can't afford the higher end models, as they will still be getting TOTL levels of performance with the Bokeh Open. Zach has truly made something special once again.

It will be an interesting chapter. There is usually much better demand for an affordable headphone that punches well above its weight than the summit-fi flagships. Provided they can keep up with demand/turnover.

Easy to drive, easy to use headphone that I can run out of a DAP? Normally I pick up Utopia or the B&O H100 and I'd be fascinated to see where the Bokeh sits in between. As for technical abilities, I'm running the LCD-5 out of a Hugo2 cabled to Danacable Rhapsody right now so if Bokeh compares favourably, that'd be a huge win!
