Anticipation is high for the Bokeh Open (BO - yes that's right), as it is sure to bring the special ZMF sauce to a new audience at its lower price point ($1,100-ish?). The Bokeh Closed (BC) has been well received and reviewed here on Head-Fi. Some of us, however, are all about the open-backs. The reviews write themselves: "This New BO Doesn't Stink!"

So far, I believe they have only been auditioned at a few CanJams. I'll be hearing them in Dallas in a few weeks, and cannot wait.

Please post any impressions or thoughts on the Bokeh Open below. Thanks!

That fellow holding the Bokeh Open looks so familiar....

Note to self: Do not refer to the Bokeh Open as "BO" (some paths should not be taken)

Just edited my original post to say the reviews write themselves: "This New BO Doesn't Stink!"

I heard the Bokeh Open at SoCal CanJam… I REALLY dig the sound! Feels in the same family as the Atrium and that’s a very good space. I listened to it on 3 things… my HiBy R8II, the almighty Aegis and finally on the biblical BEAST… Ray Samuels B-21… and it was pretty killer across the board on all three!!
Funny note… my wife was with me and we both listened to the Caldera Closed (soft & dense wood) just before…she swore, hands down, the Bokeh Open sounded better! MUCh better! 😆 Crazy thing… I didn’t argue that much at all.
I’m just not a planar guy and that morning,
the BO hit just right!! (I know) I’ll definitely nab a set when the right wood comes through. GREAT headphone Zach!!

Hello,

what about the driver, the same one as in the closed or something else?

Inside I think Zach had to change something I guess.

A little side info, Zach said in another thread that it could be December.
But only Zach himself can say whether pre-orders will be taken on 7.11.24.
Oh - yeah we're working out the best release date. That date was official and tentative, but we optimized the pad density/hardness for the sonics of the BokOhhh and I'm not quite sure when the large batch of them will be done yet. So likely it will end up being closer to a cyber mod at ish timeline, with the goal to be having a plethora of them ready to ship.

Were doing a lot of organization and such this week, and then I plan on release a lot of video tidbits about the BokOhhh starting next week.

Looking forward to this release. I love the look of these. Hopefully these are like a baby Atrium but with smoother treble and a warmer analog sound like the the Bokeh closed.

Man I wish they would do some Resin Flake versions but I assume that may come in the Spring or Summer time.

How do you get smoother than the Atrium?

Without having heard it yet, I would bet that the Atrium will be the warmer of the two with smoother treble. Bokeh from all accounts has been said to be more evenly balanced.

Heard this at canjam singapore. i like it more than Aeolus due to more energetic character. Not sure if the Bokeh prototype at that time still sounds the same till now (after 6-7 months apart)

I'm not sure which version you heard at CanJam Singapore, but there have been a number of changes since April, so the final release should be a bit better (to my ears at least).
