ZMF BOKEH - Closed Back (Semi-Portable)

Dec 8, 2023 at 2:33 PM Post #481 of 3,665
To me, it's not a dark sounding headphone. It has a very even treble response, which many closed backs have trouble achieving. You can also remove the mesh altogether, which should give a slight bump to the upper mids/lower treble (I haven't had a chance yet to mess with the mesh). I also never felt the detail retrieval was lacking, especially in regards to the price point and the Bokeh's overall presentation.

Thank you! I'm cautiously optimistic. Always wanted to try a ZMF :)

Same! Although my Caldera from 2 weeks ago is still pending
The shipping work flow for Bokeh is outside of the other headphones, so regular November stuff is going out today separately. I'm on Bokeh shipping team today. 😎

So yeah there will be some incongruencies.

We are only building the headphone one way, with burst mesh, protein pads, Claret stain, leather chassis for the release. (vegan available next run)
Very grateful there are always vegan options for those few of us who are vegan! It says a lot wanting to make a product accessible to all who can afford it because Zach certainly doesn't have to do this. All the vegan options brought me to the brand initially, and lack of such options has kept me away from buying new from other brands without such options. All that said, I don't personally like the feel of even vegan leathers on my face, so that the vegan suede is also the most comfortable option to me and would be what I'd buy if I wasn't vegan. The Bokeh suede pads feel especially comfortable, even more so than the normal Caldera suede pad.

Of course this release happens the day after picking up the Aelous lol. Still excited! Love the ZMF community & the forum involvement from Zach. What a great time for the hobby 😊

Just placed my order.

It will be nice not to have to use IEMs with a DAP at the office or when travelling. I've never invested heavily in IEMs because I've never purchased a pair that does not become uncomfortable after an hour and downright painful to have shoved in my ears after 2 hours.

I couldn't resist after waiting and watching all November, and the intro price pushed me over. Ordered with the solid mesh, since treble peaks are not my thing and neutral with bass is. I really love the stock wood/finish. Like, I think this may be my favorite stock finish out of all the ZMF line, which is weird to say. Normally I'd have a little FOMO for a future limited edition, but this still feels pretty special to me.

As long as you're aware that you've basically purchased a gateway drug. Mine was the Auteur Classic..
Yeah, I got bit by the bug this past year. Amassed what I would consider quite a large collection. Also a bit OCD and have stands for everything. Not to mention about 35 iems. Am I correct in assuming the bokeh has the lifetime driver warranty?

Look what just showed up. It's time to try out a dongle with the Bokeh.

This should be interesting. . .
I tried that combo briefly. I need to revisit it though as I do really like the RU7.

Just fired it up, and it's fantastic! I am actually quite shocked, and pleasantly surprised, and this thing isn't even burned in yet.
