100+ Head-Fier
@Wes S, I noticed you have both the Aeolus and Atticus. Are they that different enough sounding (in a good way), or do you like to keep a closed-back variation of an Aeolus; I know the Atticus came first, but I really would appreciate your feedback having a lot of listening time with both headphones.
(A little voice has been in my head for 2+ years to get an Atticus).
I own both the Atticus and Aeolus as well and can offer some input.
Atticus has wider stage but is also slightly peaky in comparison. I use Ori Suede pads, fwiw. Perceivable detail is staggering and it feels like the headphone you want to use to examine your music with, sort of like a microscope.
When I go back over to Aeolus it is a completely different and unique experience. More cohesive, realistic and makes you forget you are wearing headphones.
They may not have too-different of sound signatures, but they present music in two entirely different ways.
Atticus = examine your music
Aeolus = enjoy the music
