It’s called Zishan “DSD” for a reason. You are better off playing mp3s on your Smartphone. Not sure why anyone would want to purchase a high res player to play mp3s! It’s a total waste of money! (imo)
Except my zishan gets worrying hot if I try to play DSD on it and eats the battery like there's no tomorrow. Moreover I'm absolutely unconvinced of the benefit of PCM records sold into proprietary DSD format, as is the case for the vast majority of now extinct SACDs. I think the eartips on my IEMs or how deep I insert them make much more of a difference tbh

There are other reasons someone could want a standalone mp3 player :
Preserve smartphone battery
Jack output of phone is weak/has static noise/hiss
Phone has no jack at all
To name a few. I prefer my high bitrate mp3s on the zishan, especially with my headphone but also with iems as I get bad static noise on the smartphone (probably difficult to shield all those wireless chips) and it struggles a bit to power the headphones.
So imo it's a not a valid purchase only for DSD.
As depite being young I like robust stuff and don't care much for looks, I drive a '93 diesel (without turbo) mercedes that has extremely little that can go wrong, and if it does I fix it myself.
The zishan is kind of the same philosophy
