Another interesting thing is how little battery power the U6s use compared to the QT5s ! Am able to last 2-3 hours longer inbetween switching batteries. (Always have one on charge ) . :basshead:

  - the fact I'm a Moderator lends no weight at all - either way.

And I'm just one data point.  I would in fact love to see more impressions being posted, as when a headphone or IEM has polarising but opposite reviews, it just lets prospective buyers become more informed.  People who follow Paulus or bhazard and have similar tastes to them may very well love the QT5.

But I can only report based on what I've heard and measured. And TBH the measurements actually back up the sonic impressions.  I don't imagine too many people who use a lot of IEMs and know a bit about frequency curves would find this signature appealing.  But again - I am simply one data point.

And as you pointed out your looking from TOTL audio perspective and know whats lacking where as my perspective is from that of the common Pleb who only 6 months ago was wearing Skullcandys after the piston Twos died.. Its been fun. . :beerchug:

Ok with the Adels I switched out the foam tips and tried some Sienhauser dual flanges and back to the black B1 modules, oh my .. the detail! I can see why Brookos not feeling the QT5s.. would make a great reference IEM , the suberb seperation could be capable of picking out QT5s shortcomings. .

Don't beat yourself up man, we've all had a starting point. I'm 4 years into this and still relying on impressions rather than measurements heh heh, to each their own. At least I know what I like.

Thought I'd let you kind folks know that I returned my QT5s to the seller. In a week or so he'll receive them and offer me store credit to get something else. A week in Chinese IEMs means I should have 15-20 new models to choose from by then :-)

I traded mine for Shockwave III, since it was the only other similar-priced IEM in the store.

Jim was very helpful in this regard.

I can update based on how Brooko was able to help me with measurements. (Thank you for that, much appreciated)

My charts are similar to his. I do like the QT5 as is, but what I thought was poor recordings sounding off was more of the low mids overtaking the recording. I also created a correction curve based on my measurement. The curve helps show how brain burn can affect you like it did me with this IEM. My HTC10 has a profile for this too.

If you listen for awhile with music like edm, pop, and even metal, you don't realize the dark boost. When corrected via EQ, it just sounds better.

I'll post the Foobar EQ preset later. If you don't intend to ever use EQ, I'd look to something else, or wait and see if this batch wasn't created as intended and a revision goes out.
