Okay guys I hate to be buzzkill, but my one good pair of Tenores has developed channel imbalance not unlike my first pair. It seems to get worse over time. The left side just gets quieter after a certain number of hours. It seems to go back to normal after not listening for a while, then comes back more quickly each time. 
 
It's not my hearing. I switch directly to my MH1's and there is no issue. It's not my device. I've used both my Nexus 5 and Leckerton UHA760. It's not my tips or fit. I've switched tips, and still it it's a noticeable 3-5dB imbalance. I'm convinced there is some major manufacturing problem with many Tenores. This is the third set that's given me issues. Oh well, I've got a fourth set on the way. 
 
Has this happened to anyone else? Or is everyone else's working perfectly?

No it's quite disheartening. All I can say is that to be sure you have a reference pair of Tenores, the mids should sound very close to ER4S mids in emphasis, tonality and FR. Otherwise they won't sound like the graph posted here earlier. Blargh... At least it was a pair on Amazon prime, so the return shouldn't be too difficult. Anyone want to do me a favor and sell me a good pair? Lol

In other news I'd thought I'd share some pics. This is how you use tips that are too big for the Tenore. I highly recommend getting a pair of Sennheiser biflanges.

Take a piece from the stem of a tip you're not using and put it on like this:


Then put the desired tip on over that.

Hope I get a pair that expose all of their natural glory, although I probably won't even know if mine are more bass heavy than normal as I'll only have the one pair.

Don't tell us these things!!!! But seriously, I know I probably shouldn't even say this, as it's probably not the case, but I hear drastic differences in actual volume based on the fit of the tips, whether one is slightly deeper, more sealed, etc. I know you swapped tips, but for me personally, my ears are not the same size. If I use the tips that fit my right ear perfectly, they're slightly loose in my left ear, but not enough that I can use the next size up easily.
 
Anyway, I've noticed difference like that. Is it possible they might be fitting the ears differently? Do you get imbalance with the stock tips as well as the biflange?

Yeah sadly it's not the fit. No angle or tip fixes the problem. Only taking them out for 10 minutes or so, then putting them back in helps. But it's a temporary fix, as channel imbalance comes back after a few minutes.

Are you getting a vacuum seal? I think you should try the comply s200's. I get less overall bass with those due to the pretty porous foam. Maybe they will help your Dyson like overpressurization effect by letting more air thru?

The seal is really not a strong vacuum-like seal. In fact, it's one of the weaker seals I've gotten, with little to zero actual suction created. I mean if I just gently place them on the outer edge of my ear canal and barely form a seal, the imbalance still occurs. It's kind of driving me nuts lol.

Do you think the t200 would give better bass? Or will those subdue the bass like the t series on the er4s? I assume it's a foam thing and not really an earphone design thing...

Sounds like this might be the answer, maybe too much pressure built up on the driver from the pressure in the ear canal. Try inserting them by lifting your ear canal, Snuggling them in without creating any pressure, then letting go of the iem, then letting the ear canal rest on the tip and create a seal. It's worth a shot.

Sounds like this might be the answer, maybe too much pressure built up on the driver from the pressure in the ear canal. Try inserting them by lifting your ear canal, Snuggling them in without creating any pressure, then letting go of the iem, then letting the ear canal rest on the tip and create a seal. It's worth a shot.

That's what i do. Even then i have to wait a minute for the pressure to equalize for things to sound right. I don't think this is his issue, but i can't stress how critical depth, seal and waiting can be.

Hmm, I've never had regular comply foam subdue bass, just treble from overhang.
