If you could pick four people to be in a band, regardless of their style, who would they be?

You would have to have one...
Lead Guitar
Backup Guitar/Bass
Drummer
Lead Singer

For me it would be

Jimmy Page
Kirk Hammet
Danny Carey
Maynard or Billy Corgan

Man, I started the thread and couldnt even make up my mind...

My ultimate 70's/80's alt rock supergroup.

Robert Quine - Lead Guitar
Paul Westerberg - Guitars/Vocals
Alex Chilton - Guitars/Vocals
Chris Stamey - Bass/Vocals
Anton Fier - Drums

Westerberg and Chilton could take turns playing some keyboards.

I'd say pretty much Dream Theater except maybe replace the drummer with Neil Pert.

Guitar/Vocals - Ben Gibbard [sometimes with a guest female vocalist]
Piano/Vocals - Tori Amos
Bass/Vocals/etc - Markus Acher
Drums/etc - Dan Snaith

etc = mixing, samples, keyboards, etc

EDIT: Can we bring people back from the dead for this band?

Cleans: Christian from Blindside, he has great screams and an awesome tone

"vocals"/baritone/7: "you scare me" Jeff/myself, I can play guitar when necessary...the really low parts and rip out your spinal cord with my screams at the same time

"Vocals"2/Rhythm: "family man" Bruce Fitzhugh (he really rips) seriously though, bruce has a great baritone voice which is just amazing, he could talk like that all day if he felt like it

Lead: Hide from X Japan, or...Rocky Gray, they're both really good but I like what Hide did, rocky can also play bass and drums equally as well, although lance is the man.

Bass:...I dunno..."Schmee" Foster, my friend

Drums: "the machine" Lance Garvin or the guy from The Showdown, they're
both really good although lance's drumming is like just an onslaught the guy from the showdown's really fast...lance can probably go just as fast though.

Piano: Yoshiki from X Japan, also, he's a great drummer...LOTSA energy...probably on par with lance on that, or above...but lance is psycho, so is this guy, he's lance's japanese equivalent. Anyway, that way we could have...3 drummers...3 guitarists...3 singers...and one bassist

Essentially my band would be Living Sacrifice (from In Memoriam) + Hide + Foster + Myself

We'd have 3x guitar solos, bass solos, drum encores, group shouts, cleans, growls grunts screams and vampire banshee beams all coming at once, it'd be a fantastic show to see...not to mention the scariest thing ever for non-metal fans.

Jimi Hendrix

And I really think you need a second guitar, and that would be Tom Morello.
