Here's the explanation, per Jude in a recent thread:

Notify me via PM when your post count milestone needs to be updated, and I'll put you on my Head-Fi to-do list to update it on the next round of updates.

probably to maintain a post count higher than Wayne. he's been catching up a lot recently since I haven't been posting too much.

Well, since Pinkfloyd passed me and somebody else had already knocked me off the first page, my goal for this year is 5,000 and stay on page two.
I may exceed my goal, but hopefully not by much.

Wait til you clear 1500 for Headphoneus Supremus. Then PM Jude. Easier that way. Otherwise you will have to PM at every milestone.

I hope to clear 500 by summer's end, what with the HeadRoom tour and long summer nights on the horizon. By the end of the year? 1000 would be great, but i think 500-750 would be more reasonable.

1000 is a reachable goal but you'll have to work hard to achieve your target....... forget nights out, candle lit dinners with females and "life" per se are things of the past, if you want to hit your 1000 (by year end) post target it will involve a lot of hard work and a lifestyle change........ you'll have to dedicate all of your spare time to Head-Fi, Give up exercise, give up socialising, give up "life" as we know it and cocoon yourself inside a protective Headphone shell...... only then will you achieve your Head-Fi post count Target for the fiscal year.

I'm behind you man and hope you achieve your target.

Alright Pinky, heregoes. I've cancelled my WoW account, dropped the rest of the semester, i've set up a weekly coffee delivery, i'll spend 25 minutes each day maintaining 3-5 'adult' websites to ensure i've got enough money to pay my monthly isp bill, stocked up on ramen (which, to save time, i'll eat dry) and have upgraded my computer chair to the AOL throne mentioned earlier in the week. I've allotted 1-1.47 hours per day for hitting F5 on the "New Posts' page, and with my new, dual keyboard setup, i should be set in the event that my primary peripheral input device fails me. In the event that i should have to 'use the bathroom' or, God forbid, 'shower,' i've purchased a PSP and configured it to function as nothing but a head-fi portal. Now, according to my most recent calculations, i've got ~7.8 weeks of music on my computer. Assuming all albums are listened to straight-through, i think i'll manage to only hear each song an average of 4.74 times assuming my music plays without interruption.

I'll do it, Pinky, if not for myself, then for you.

Then again, with 37 weeks left in the year, and 837 posts left to make, that averages to only 3.231 posts/day. I think it might just be healthier to stop reading all the time and just post a bit more.

1400?

Ever since I decided to become a more constructive poster, I've posted a lot less stuff and made more use of the search button. I've also had more work in school...

But
postcount++;
