Squeek!

OK, so I can't help stopping into CD warehouse while I'm out on Fry Street. I'm friendly with the manager there, so I always stop in and say hi when I see her. Also, this time of year, 'good finds' constitute a full 50% of the used bin. The wonders of having a record store across the street from an arts/music college, there, I tellya. Anyways, I'm sure my mom is going to give 'em an angry call saying not to let me in the store anymore:

Steve Burns - Songs for Dustmites (another stolen album I'm replacing)
Mazzy Star - So Tonight That I Might See
Dinosaur Jr. - Without a Sound
Weezer - Pinkerton (had most of the songs from my napster days in the dorm. Decided to make good today.

Thanks for the info as always, Sir W. You are a walking dictionary. You aren't actually one of those web-surfing, info gathering military project robot AI thingamajigs like in those crazy aneemays I like, are you? Cuz we gotta talk more if you are

edit:
Oh yeah! I saw three copies of Gold Afternoon Fix in the bargain bin. There seemed to be 2 variations on the packaging. One was more art oriented, the other just had a track listing on the back. Both had the same cover I think. Is one of them rare, or was there just a repackage at some point? Also, since I was too young to have critical taste in music in the 1980's, I don't actually know many of bands to check out. Any recommendations? I dig the hell out of New Order and Madness. And Peter Schilling. Well, and The Church as well. Also have an Echo and the Bunnymen LP that I have admittedly not spent proper time with (bad turntable from last apartment).

1) Paranoia Agent Soundtrack - Susumu Hirasawa - I get hook after listening to the first track "Dream Island Obsetional Park" and I like the rest as well.

2) Whales - Sam Cardon - I like this one as well, very relaxing. Where can I find Innovators II? I love the music from Innovators I.

3) Weiss Lute Concerti - Tempesta Di Mare - I love baroque music and Silvius Leopold Weiss was a very good composer but you don't listen much of him. I played guitar and he composed a lot for the lute so is easy to transcribe his music to the guitar.

4) Nostradamus The Music of His Renaissance - The Hudson Chamber Ensemble - Disappointed, haven't listen to a track that really move me like in their other CD Joan of Arc:Music Revelations track #2 Veri Floris Sub Figura. I was expecting something similar to that. That's me ok, this is still a good renaissance music CD with very good performances problem with me is that I don't care about musical appreciation of technicality I just listen to the music that I like, if I don't like it, it can be performed by angels coming down from the heavens and I will still don't like it.

5) Hot Fuss - The Killers - Still listening to see if there is a track that I like so far it sounds like any other new band, boring.

Juzzie Smith - Good Vibes

That was a week & a half ago and as a result I am not going to be walking into another CD stor till christmas at the earlies, though I could weaken and buy a few DVD-A's for the right price but other than that I think I am done for quite a long while. It is a sickness really. You know, once you start...

On the upside my collection increased by nearly 15% and uckily the average price of those discs was roughly $10 CAD. The SACD's were only a $11 and were in as new condition (in fact the store guy gave me a shrink wrapped copy of Layla). It all still adds up far too quickly.

The most expinsive one was Juzzie Smith. He one man band busker from australia who plays slide guitar, harmonica, didgereedo, and drums. The disc was $20 but I consider it artist support as it went straght in his pocket. He was really good and I suggest others check him out. He has a web page called harmonica man and he truly is full of good vibes.

The Bends is arguably the best album ever made.
The trifecta of The Bends, OK Computer, and Kid A is the best run of music I've ever heard back-to-back-to-back.

Breaking Benjamin - We Are Not Alone
Franz Ferdinand - Franz Ferdinand
Avenged Sevenfold - City Of Evil
The Killers - Hot Fuss
Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree
Cheap Trick - The Essential Cheap Trick

I've been on a spending binge as of late. But that's no biggie. I love watching my checking account dwindle down to nothing.

Vas - [In The Garden Of Souls]
Nekromantix - [Hellboud]
Leaves' Eyes - [Vinland Saga]
Lucia - [From the Land of Volcanos] (signed--yayness)
KMFDM - [Hau Ruck] (also signed; more happiness)
Jakalope - [It Dreams] (only in the technical sense though: I did pay for it, but I'm sending it on to an English friend of mine, and not unwrapping it)

I also came this close to buying the Traveling Wilburys' [Volume 1] on vinyl today, until I realised that they had three other copies there and that it could thus "wait a little while longer".
