The Alice Coltrane record was a wonderful find. It is only my second favorite album from her, but absolutely essential listening to any jazz fan nonetheless. The In Utero reissue is a pretty much flawless pressing and the sound is spectacular. If you have a turntable do yourself a favor and get it! Ascendere I picked as my album of the month for September despite it being technically an EP. It's a free download so go ahead and download it; I dare you to tell me you don't like it! Learning to Manage Chaos is a soundtrack that comes free when you purchase the game free from either directly the developer Dischan's website or through Steam. The more I listen to it the more I like CombatPlayer's style and now I'm really interesting in hearing his solo albums.

I've got five more. The four latter ones are from Beatport. Turns out Confession would've been available from Bandcamp for cheaper, but I got the music and that's all that matters. Ishome's debut album has been one of my most anticipated albums since last year and now that I realized it's finally out I'm really interested to hear what this ridiculously talented young Russian lass has managed to cook up on her computer.

Despite having said in this very thread that I'm not enough of a Vangelis or Blade Runner fan to get the Audio Fidelity LP, when I came across the vinyl at my local record store I simply couldn't pass up the opportunity to own it. Never would I have expected to see it on offer in my town. I also felt it was reasonably priced at 31.95€, but since I happened to have a full stamp coupon to the store worth 17€, I only ended up paying 14.95€ for it. Pretty sweet deal if you ask me.

 

Sephyra is a free download. I'm quite picky about singers, but I must say this lady has a quite nice voice. Vertikal II I will definitely get on vinyl if it is even half as good as Vertikal was.

I dunno, I hate movie dialogue voice overs in my movie soundtracks, which is why I own so few. And it's a shame, because Blade Runner is one of my very favorites. But as soon as clips from the movie start playing over some of the music I'm like, look, if I wanted to go listen to his wonderful soundtrack and have actors from the movie talk over it, I'd go watch the movie, lol.

I think I finally stopped the habit of always looking for better headphones and amps and such, and have now turned my obsession into buying CD's again. I got all 5 of these, all since this last Saturday.

Actually, it looks like a re-recorded version of the soundtrack came out last year without the dialogue. Listening to it now, and while it's not *perfect,* it's incredibly damn close. (Especially since it had to be 'reverse-engineered,' as it would appear that Vangelis-penned sheet music for the soundtrack does not exist.) For those concerned, it's nothing like that weird orchestral version that came out shortly after the film. I'd say this one is about 95% accurate with regards to how similar it sounds to Vangelis, in addition to which it sounds much better recorded. Google 'Edgar Rothermich Blade Runner' if you're curious. Normally I'd shy away from this sort of thing, but because it sounds so very close, I'll be picking up a copy and loving it to death. This is the Blade Runner soundtrack that I've always wanted to listen to.

Well, *almost.* I'd love it if they had gone the full mile and re-recorded all the music that appears in the film and which doesn't appear on the official soundtracks too, but hey, you can't have everything, I suppose.
