Xears Thread (formerly TD III)

the sound signature of Xears (similar price) differs very much.
I own xt2pro / xe200 / TDII and TM5pro
and this is also my ranking.
[stay away from TM5pro, they sound like a 70s portable radio, midcentric with no bass]
stock-tips really aren´t that good
For perfect fit and seal I recommend the DIY-method with foam-noiseblocker.
Just cut off a slice in length of the nozzle
(if too long it can cover the filter/mesh and dull down sound dramatically)

reg. Xears I only have the above.

Unfortunately XT2pro are out of production.
Successor XT3pro shall come soon - with changable filters like Phonak Audeo.
Let´s wait and see  listen

A little update about the XE200.

Yesterday I've installed Rockbox on my Sansa Clip Zip. WOW! XE200 real potential is finally revealed. They sound even better than before. And with rockbox the sound is less dark and more clear, but the bass is still present, deep and really powerful. Now even The Offspring songs are really clear and enjoyable. I love these IEMs!

Ok thanks for a little of history. Relying on your opinion XT3PRO can be very interesting IEMs.

I received the xe200. I get now what you mean by "dark sound" its because it has a noticeable emphasis on the upper bass frequency. Not my best choice in sound signatures but I think i can live with it.

At the beginning I thought the same. Now I can't live without them! :p You need sometime to really appreciate these IEMs. :)

Anyway it's IMPOSSIBLE to have an idea of the Xears products. They have TOO many models with the same description I don't even know where to start :) And the reviewed ones are only 4 or 5.

xe200 + open and airy is nothing I could put in one sentence

for me they´re dull, muffled and very bassy (but not just in an evil way)
well, possibly the n3 are even more - in this case thx for the info and I´ll kick them from my watchlist.

Since I´m still looking for a real competitor to the XT2pro (clear, detailed, dry+punchy bass)
I just ordered the XT3 an hour ago.
I´ll report when tested....
