60-70%? I’m listening to the HD800s on medium gain at about 27 - 33 and that’s loud enough for me. Please watch your ears, 60-70% doesn’t sound healthy at all to me.

Are you sure your source is set to 100%? Did you try with an iPad or iPhone?

Yes I use UAPP/Neutron all the time from my Samsung smartphone at 100% volume and Bit-Perfect on. My HD650 are much easier to drive than HD800S. I use HD650 all the time at MID gain 45-50% volume. And I use HD800S only at TURBO gain to drive them properly at 60%+ volume. All these with 6.3 unbalanced output.

The Fiio Q15 will struggle to power your DT1990 Pro's to their full potential. My Q7 is on Ultra High Gain when using my DT770 80 OHM Beyer's

No, the DT770 is single ended but my experience with Beyer's is that the 250 ohm versions are difficult to drive properly and need more voltage

Anyone else has thier unit keep going into protection mode , XDUOO keeps saying to reinstall the OpAmps and or DAC. Like really this thing is 1k.

If it would be possible to return it I would.

I ask you: are you sure you didn't damage the OP-AMP board connector in some way when you inserted the SPARKOS without modification?

For me, it goes into protection mode only when the headphones and a digital source are connected. To avoid the protection mode, I set up everything first without plugging the headphones. Then, I plug in the headphones just before clicking the play button. You can also try if it happens when using it only as an amp, i.e., only connecting an analog input.

Today is the day. My xd05pro only works in ext mode. Charge and batt modes do not work. In charge mode it behaves the same as in ext mode. Batt mode = 0. The battery was not discharged.

I am not the only one having this issue stock or not stock. Nothing is damaged. It's a software issue.
It plays for hours sometimes and other times immediately. Using different sources. As more people speak up hopefully XDUOO will see fit to resolve this.

Maybe software plus a protection circuit. I think it's on the amp side than dac, as it only happens when the headphones are connected. I actually once installed the op-amps in the wrong orientation by mistake. There was no sound output but it didn't go to the protection mode either. Even this didn't damage anything. I turned the op-amps around and they worked normally.

That makes sense now, I should have asked Why don’t you use bal out?
