Cool, I haven't had major issues with stock FW except weird shuffle issue but I'm relieved at this point that it is not hardware issue. I will also see if reflashing RB will help.

LOL that shuffle... Sometimes it seems to have his own mind and tastes... Yesterday for about 30/40 minutes no matter what it would always come back to the same Gregory Porter album. I skipped a song till i find one for my mood but after that it always keep coming back to Mr. Porter. Guess my X3 has a Liquid Spirit... LOL

yes, It's better to skip in serial mode until you like what you hear. :)

I think the best choice on the high end side might be the Audio-Technica ATH-CKS990 Inner Ear Headphone Solid Bass and on the budget side the choice will be the JVC HAFX1X Xtreme Xplosives In Ear Canal Headphones.  i have tried many pairs but these two pleased me the most so far plus both have plenty of bass as they should.

I use my X3 with Westone UM1 and UM 30 Pro IEMs. They both sound great with the X3, much better than either my ipod (latest gen) or iphone 5S. The X3 doesn't suffer at all with the UM 30 Pros which can be difficult in terms of closed in and dark sound. I do use the Rockbox EQ and up the treble (+1 db) to open it up a bit.

Hello guys, I have a question: what is the best EM for the Duo X3? I will evaluate the cost considering the performances.

Whichever pair works best for you!

Seriously, most of my gear pairs very well with the X3 (some better than others of course), but what's more important is which IEM's you prefer in general. Chances are they will sound great off of the X3.

Hi! Thank you for your answer.
I am not expert in sound field.
My experience is not so wide since I have only three IEM's: Sennheiser CX200II Street, Sennheiser CX300II Precision and Xiaomi Hybrid. I really like the Xiaomi IEM, I find a good sound quality if compared to the others. They are really cheap so I would like to improve the overall SQ choosing a better IEM. I noticed that there is not a defined difference is SQ between Sansa Clip+ and Xduoo X3 if I use the Xiaomi Hybrid. That is to say that if I want to enjoy the good SQ of a better DAP I think I should have to improve at first the quality of IEM.
I hope to identify a new pair of IEM, thanks to all!

Yes, for most quality devices the IEM matters much more than the player.  I'd suggest looking at IEM reviews generally, both of those players should have no trouble driving most pairs.

Word of warning : the CKS990 are VERY SIBILANT , and this is coming from someone that can tolerate sibilant IEMS

I am sure you are right but it might be the difference between a genuine pair that costs minimum 93 pounds and the knockoffs that costs 25-30 pounds. To be honest i have read that almost every IEM on the market even the monitor ones can be more or less sibilant. I am no expert and still looking for a good in-ear pair too but i don't want to go over 100 pounds so CKS990 seemed the best choice, anyway it is difficult to recommend a pair that is universally accepted by everyone plus the fact that you can not try them before purchase. Another alternative i have taken into consideration is the Sony XB90EX but i don't think they will be as good as the CKS990.

Everyone should do themselves a favour and pay $5 for some red hot Monks to play on their X3's. Just saying!
