Try the Q1, to me the pairing is very good!

Thanks Leo.  The Q1 also includes a DAC which I don't need.  If I were to replace or upgrade my NX1 it'd be a simple amp only.

If the new Headstage 6-series amp has no DAC built in I may get one. I really do miss my 5TX, it was a great amp, but the DAC was redundant on it, especially for how low quality it was (in relation to the quality of the 5TX's amp).

While the C5 is a definite improvement on the X3's sound, it's fairly minimal - to be honest I've not even been using the line out on it recently as the built in amp is completely good - unless I am using power hungry over-ears or am at home where I have a Project Starlight for nice tubey magic.

I can say with certainty I wouldn't have been happy using

Got a chance to order the Xduoo X3 from Banggood on their recent CRAZY sale promotion. The price was only $77 which is super cool for this kind of DAP. Looking forward to take it for a spin.

Not sure if the deal is still on but I used the following code: 2cb550

That does sound great.  Got mine from them back in November for $90.

Not bad at all. Really glad I got it. The duo slots & DSD support completely made this one attractive for me, as I was using the iPhone 6S as my main source of audio on the go.

Feeling a little thick, but can I copy songs onto my Micro SD cards on the Rockboxed Xduuo via Windows 10? It's not seeing it as an external drive but saw both my micro SDs when I was on stock firmware. Cheers

I thought I did really well getting mine for 93 shipped... 77 is a steal! This is too good to pass up on for anyone who hasn't bit the bullet yet.

Nice looking setup! I am not familiar with those Philips headphones but I'm researching them now, they look quite nice!
I usually don't use that long thin red interconnect, I have a smaller one for strapping two devices together like you do with the Topping, but that's my spare for leaving at work

Jealous of the case though! I'm sure they'll appear for sale again sooner or later though.

The case was/is available from Penon both direct and on eBay for ~$10.  It isn't as tight fitting as I'd like, so if that will be an issue.....

As for the Philips cans, I've had their SHL5500 for several years which has proven to be a nice neutral inexpensive set.  That led me to reviewing all the hype about the SHP9500 which unfortunately appears to be marked for discontinuance as part of the take over of the Philips AV line by Gibson.  At sale prices it is simply a fantastic bargain.  A bit bright for me which is why I've tweaked it with the 2mm felt mod over the drivers  (http://tinyurl.com/z48euu5).  Super comfortable and light on the head.  Some folks compare it sonically to the HD600 which from my knothole, having owned HD580/600s since 1993 as MY "go to" benchmark, is quite a stretch.  However they unquestionably hit way above their price.  Philips cans are too often overlooked.  They have good build and SQ quality worth scoping out.

I'm just hoping someone makes a silicon/rubber case, those are my favorite kind. But I was going to buy from Penon soon and didn't realize they stocked them too, so thanks!

I strongly recommend using the factory mode and not rockbox mode for file management of your mSD cards.

Yeah a silicon case would be nice but it appears this one is the only case of any type currently on the market for our X3:

Case for transport. Do you recommend any model?
I found these, is it appropriate?
