on my ta-22 ecc82 tubes . use telefunken nos 1966, waiting RCA clear tops. tried modern tungsol, but too warm for me they. rft and telefunken linear neutral with lots of details soundn=ing.Stock tubes have to give way to better tubes to really unleash the potential of that TA-26. But that does not mean you go over board and start buying those GEC 6AS7G or the TS BGRP. However if you do have these, that TA-26 is going to perform at a different level.
A more saner choice would be a Sylvania VT231 and a Tungsol 6080 that I am using on my TA26 and this has already made it much better amp than with stock tubes.
the ADX5000 with most SS amps that I have tried becomes fatuguing with a higher preference for upper mids and treble. On a good OTL all this changes and it becomes much more ear friendly in the upper registers and has a beautiful mid range and pretty good bass. Its the best HP I have heard for female vocals, jazz and classical music.

- no need any tubes. stock ta-22 has high performance TAD 12au7a tubes, that priced 25€/pic and sounds same as tungsol harmonix, jj electronics, psvane etc.
- im closed tube rolling game after 2 set of tubes roll. stock is better and is factory tuned for best sound.
- im read that telefunkens is bla bla bla ...super duper... after testing immediatly sent them back... and this is vintage 1960' th. then try investigate stock tubes and bingo, they are one of the best TAD 12au7a selected ones.
- vintage is foggy sound, made for military or other purposes.
- RFT tubes is more V-shapped sounding with foggy mids, with bigger bass and extended highs.
- received today new tungsol 12au7w tubes on my ta-22. as all saying, another league vs stock tubes, few times better sound quality, every note from bass to highs. . extended from bottom to end. mostly linear sounding tubes. silky smooth highs. no noise.hi-end league. superior 'tube sound"
- after rolled nos telefunkens, rft, tad, im found modern tungsols is superior to them all
- tried modern tungsol, but too warm for me they. rft and telefunken linear neutral with lots of details soundn=ing.
So which is it? You keep contradicting yourself and saying the complete opposite every few posts.

I bought a little bundle of tubes from a German private one:
I just started 3 weeks ago with the Philips Mullard Blackburn (rare B-Codes), since then I never touched the others I think I will do the next weeks, but for now theses are phenomenal. But as well I got last week new headphones (Final D8000 Pro) which replaced my "old" Hifiman HE1000 V2S
The TA-22 is a great partner for the D8000 Pro. I also have a Burson Conductor 3X Reference here which is 4 time the price, but in my world the TA-22 is the better more lively match.

As I told you, I have a Burson Conductor 3X Reference and the TA-22 over here. The Burson is 4 times the price of the TA-22.
But I use the TA-22. And that with a 4k headphone.
