Hmmm i think this is kinda turning into a lose-lose situation... Me abd my friend Emily have been talking (texting and voice calls) a lot but i may not get into the school thos semester so i don't want to start liking her but i do kinda and it's pretty mutual but i can't ask her out or anything because 1) I've only seen her and hung out once when i toured the school and 2) if i don't get in then i don't see it working out well so I'd wait until i got accepted. Also, she's 16 turning 17 in February and I'm 15 turning 16 in October. (I'm a freshman and she's a sophomore) :/ but i think she's really cool and interesting and stuffs and vice versa but it's going to suck if i don't get in. :frowning2:

Age gap means very little. Even at your ages, a 1.5 year gap isn't a big deal.

17 yo girl to 15 turn 16 yo guy is actually a big difference in social circles at least. if the girl is down with that then she really likes you. this usually leads to marriage..... ahh what do I know. you can divide my age by that...times uh nevermind lol.

main problem with the age is that i can't drive her out on a date or anything and i don't want her to have to drive... Aside from that besides getting out of school at different years, I'm fine with an age gap. :) and music_man, :p

Never really been on a "date" but have my fair share of misery.

So there's this girl who I like. I've told her all about my past and she's also shared something about her. This all happened yesterday, just today I got a message that I can only be a good friend and never be a good friend. She told me that she wanted me to know the future scope as I may not expect something that is not possible from her side, and she can't deliver it. It was when I didn't even tell her if I have any feelings nor are do I know of any feelings from her side. She's single and I got the correct signs I think.

This was when I had decided that no dating for me, so definitely no more girls from now on.

God, them girls really think in mysterious ways.

My uncle used to told me that "date a girl/woman that you wish to marry to, otherwise, forget about it don't waste their time and yours " [/CONTENTEMBED]

That's my logic too. The counter-argument would be that you get more experience by going on "dates for fun..." which doesn't sound particularly interesting to me.

So why does adding this make your text go away in a quote? (like the post above me)

I actually study my friends' and my brother's date and see how it usually end up, and I make sure I won't repeat those silly mistakes they made to disappoint their "other-half". I though fun date is just wasting time IMO

There's two schools of thought on the whole date around to find an SO or be friends with lot's of girls/guys and see if anything develops to find an SO. From what I can tell, the first school of thought is prevalent in the West, while the second school is the norm in Asia. I would suspect that in the West at least, if you don't start off showing interest in the girl, then she will automatically assume you're not interested and move on...the whole immediate "sparks and chemistry" thing. That at least has been my experience, but then, what do I know? I've never been in a relationship and just end up sleeping with desperate women I meet on drunken nights out.

Keep the stories coming, as I wont be posting any anytime soon, as everything is going smoothly with my long term friend come girlfriend :)

Although she sometimes complains about my headphone addiction/obssesion. It's worrying when your girlfriend would rather see porn in your internet history than head-fi...
