Well my Goldring homies and I have been havin' a little fun diggin' up the old DR150 thread. One of the Doc brethren challenged me to woody the Docs several months back, and another mentioned it again today. Having a day off work while things are drying, I had the day available to play. I had never been really fond of the dark silver color of the DR150's, so while I had 'em apart I took the opportunity to change that.

Here's the Darth Docs!

The pics aren't the best, I'm a better woodworker than photographer. The wood is Curly Maple and has a lot of rays that move in the light, although it's hard to see in the pics.

Not much, maybe just a few subtle changes, I need to do more listening. The wood trim pieces are pretty flat, so as to let them articulate. There was no room for thicker cups like Larry makes for Senns. I'd consider it a mostly asthetic change.

Swt...you are a true genius and as of today...my Head-Fi hero! Those look gorgeous. You're a truly talented woodworker. How do they sound?
