I did some big changes I sold WA33 Elite and Holo May KTE and every headphone but 1266 and Empyrean. My money went to my 2 channel setup and Wells Audio setup. I went ahead and bought wa5 Le just now for the more romantic sound of woo. DACs will be primaluna Evo 100 and Wells Cipher both are single ended. Spend less on tubes for this amp. Does it do good job of powering 1266?

All that brand new Wells Audio gear and you still had to have a 5LE, haha, love it. You just reminded me that I still need to kick the 5LE into high powered mode and try out my Diana V2. 6W should light it up nicely. I'll try it out tonight.

Cool. Did Mike mention the 5LE being a good fit for that? I would think it would be. I'm a prog metal, death metal, metalcore guy and the 5LE handles it well.

He did that a 33 is for analyzing music for those that enjoy that type of listening. The WA5 is more of PRAT. I don't listen to the lyrics meaning just the rhythm of a song.

The tubes are stock but I did buy the suggested upgrade tubes form Woo Audio, I just haven’t tried them. Though the cable was a grand improvement?

Way more improvement than the Sony TA? I haven’t heard the amp for 10 years!

Mine took 6 weeks, standard model, no upgrades.

Also, @Bonddam you had asked in another thread about whether or not the WA5-LE can power the Abyss 1266 sufficiently. I said I would try my 5-LE on high power mode with my Abyss Diana V2 and I've done so. High power mode, high gain mode, I couldn't even get to 9 o'clock on the volume without fear of damaging my hearing. Sounds damn good though. I think it will easily power your 1266.

I need to give my HE-6 a try on high power mode next...
