i've always used IE and recently downloaded the IE7 beta and it works fine. i guess i never tried other browsers since i never encountered any problems with IE. i've heard plenty of stories about IE though... we'll see.

I've been using FF for a few years now and haven't found any reason to switch to another. I DL'ed Opera a while ago but never really gave it a chance because I was used to using FF. Are there any major difference between the two that would be worth switching for?

I used Opera exclusively for a period of about 2 months. I liked the browser a lot. It looked and felt very clean, and it was fast. However, I started to use Firefox as my primary browser again for two reasons: 1. There is no extension capability in Opera. Although it has many features to begin with, the modding community for Firefox is great. 2. Incompatibility issues. I was tired of some sites not working or working poorly with Opera. I browse a lot of streaming video sites, and I coudn't tell whether or not the link was bad or if it didnt work with Opera. I guess this is a problem with the websites and not the browser, but it was the primary reason I went back to Firefox.

Firefox for both Mac and PC. I gave Safari and Opera a run, but was spoiled by Firefox extentions. really couldn't surf any other way.

Firefox for me.
IT WORKS... plain and simple.
No crashes
No ad-ware
No spyware

I guess the memory use doesn't bother me.

I was using IE and I had to run Hijack-this weekly to clean things up.

I was a big fan of Firefox until recently. It started to bog way down, and the only plugin I was running was AdBlock. But the biggest problem I had was it started to get hung up on searches... everything from Google to Amazon. Once I hit search, it would go to the blank page, and then got hung up and never showed anything. And refreshing wouldn't fix it.

I've since gone to Opera. It's been great, after taking just a little while to get used to it. The mouse gestures were a pleasant surprise... I do miss AdBlock, but the pop-up blocker in Opera stops the most offensive stuff.

Check the original post.

Re: Oistrakh
Tabs, and other window features, are the best in Opera, since you can also tile and cascade your windows in the browser. Try downloading Opera and pressing Ctrl+T or middle clicking a link.

For the record, IE7 also has tabs (what browser doesn't nowadays?).

Checked! Thanks... Like I said, just takes a little getting used to (and a little help!).
