Windows 10 Audio players

Foobar sounds like every other player. Give me a break folks...
FooBar2000 with Foo_dsd_asio seems to be one of the few options for sending DSD direct to an external DAC without converting to PCM first. At least that's the best option I've been able to come up with, for Windows 10 at no cost. FooBar also addresses .cue sheets and properly shows tracks in SACD ISO's. From what I've read, ROON still seems to be the best option for Windows but it's not free. MediaMonkey Gold has come out with a new version recently and it's worth a look, it's free with option to upgrade. MediaMonkey works with FlexASIO without a fuss and seems to benefit. QMPlay2 is another one I like, it's stable with a lot of features and available in Linux as well.

I wish this thread was more active. IMHO, computer audio is a mess with the only real all-in-one option being ROON but, that opens another whole can of worms with a dedicated server and a monthly subscription (to do it properly).

Agreed but foobar2000 even when set to not use DoP does do that, unless you install ASIO proxy. I set this up recently based on some helpful doc and software that Audio-gd packaged up and lists on their main page. I hated Roon and didn't buy it after the trial, but I would like a one-point of control app for local/NAS files (including SACD.iso rips of which I have hundreds) and also streaming services. I have a Bluesound node 2i, which is good but requires hardware and also does not play DSD files and does not support .ISO.

I like to use Audirvana (regular or studio version). They've made a lot of progress recently updating the player and making things more user-friendly.

I hate Windows but Foobar2000/ASIO is the best solution I’ve found for playing rips, including SACD .ISOs, and downloads up to DSD 256. I run it on a dedicated (cheap) laptop and I’ve turned off a bunch of services I don’t need. I use the MonkeyMote app on my iPhone for remote control. I don’t do streaming. I’ve tried a bunch of Linux and Pi based alternatives and none of them work and/or sound as good.

I alternative between JRiver and Foobar2k. I also use JRiver as DLNA server.

I use TuneBrowser

Lots of options and sounds good to me. Not free, but not expensive.
