I'm considering purchasing both the Fiio E7 and the ATH-M50 for my desktop. I am wondering if these two devices go well together and whether or not the E7 is able to properly drive the ATH-M50. Thanks in advance! (Newbie here so I hope this is the correct forum...)

FWIR the M50 doesn't really need amplification. Depending on your PC setup, you'll probably benefit more from the DAC part of the E7 than anything.

In other words, yes the E7 will properly drive the M50.  

Plus you get a USB DAC as part of the package too. Welcome to head-fi!

I'll probably proceed on with purchase of the E7 as my desktop only has a rubbish realtek integrated sound card. Leaves my options open to get an E9 as well. Thank you for the quick replies!
