why does everyone quit dynamic headphone to go for Stax system?

the conclusion is simple... Listen to all of them if you can.

Too bad for me that I have to buy everything to try since there are no stats in my area and no high end dynamics of any kind either.

definitely listen to both sides.

stereotypes don't really apply, my new sr-5's are less neutral than my dt880's, less analytical, and sound closer to grados but with a lot better bass - good extension and impact imo.. *shrug*

i really like them with rock and metal.. and i might prefer dt880's for classical. more listening needed.

I like excitement and variety rather than accuracy so I prefer my SR325i, K501 and DT880 over my Stax phones. Also these other phones don't make my ears sweat after 20 minutes like my Lambda Pros do.

Dammit.

Because there are no clear right or wrong answer!

Dynamic and electrostatic headphones perform differently, and we all have different preferences. Hence you should listen to a choice of both and make up your own mind.

In the end you may end up with at least one of each!
