I guess I'm split between AKG and Grado (since they're all I own), but I have no particular allegience to a brand - it's all about the model itself.

I think I swing to the Grado side a little more since I love their general signature, but all in all, I just wanted to post number 400

What hurts your feelings is when you finally understand that there is probably no one manufacturer that does it best for all kinds of music. That to get the full spectrum covered adequately, that going afield to other clans is the only way to go!

True. I guess we need someone to develop the Sennkgyerecnicadoax ADHDKDTRS701650880 woodies. That ought to include the best of all the companies, or would it be the worst?

Seriously, it is a pick your poison situation. With a gun to my head, I'd have to say Sennheiser.

For kicks, I'm doing a big K701-K501-AD2000-HD650-HD600 shootout this weekend, will report soon.

Koss and Senn, for reasons that Wualta mentioned. Stax, for keeping the electrostatic torch alight and the hope alive. Westone/Shure/UE/Etymotic and anything/everything balanced-armature related, since that's where the future is. Everyone that doesn't make dynamics for the courage to experiment.
