I was very disappointed with the ref calls, especially when Totti got the red card. After the match FIFA received 600,000 emails in a day and Italian gangs wanted that ref dead.

Just a WC trivia that came to my mind

There are 4 dutch coaches on the

Guus Hiddink - Australia
Dick Advocaat - South Korea
Leo Beenhakker - Trinidad and tobago
Marco van Basten - Holland

Personally i wouldn't like the idea of a foreigner coaching my national team

So I'll be supporting these teams a little bit. Especially Trinidad and Tobago, Beenhakker is a cool guy

My heart is for Holland, but I think the Czech Republic will make it this time.

Isn't that the same for Brazil every World Cup?

I voted for the Dutch because they're due although they'll probably find some incredibly painful way to lose.

Last thing, why is this poll private?

94 Brazil won, Baggio missed the penalty.
98 Brazil lost 0-3 to France, Ronaldo was known as the best striker in the world at that time, however he did not perform well in the last game due to a cold, or some other reason which we never know.
02 Brazil won, but then Germany reached final due to luck. South Korea had previously eliminated Italy, Portugal and Spain, any of them could beat Germany at that time. Germany beat Paraguay, U.S and South Korea to reach the final, none of them was considered a very strong team.

Although it's highly improbable but they can play well and that's what it takes.

Play well, focus, no pressure, no big expectations, and ...?

Anyway, Brazil, Germany, Italy, England, Argentina, Holland and all those TOP teams are under tremendous pressure!!!
Remember that the African countries play very dynamic football, ...

I will be pulling for the Dutch and really think they will pull it out this time. That is, if Van Basten keeps that worthless Van Nistelrooy on the bench where he belongs.

Interestly only one vote for France. Well, France was eliminated in the first round four years ago, but they still have Henry. You just have to trust Henry. But if Zidane plays then you don't have to trust Henry.

Yes, I remember 2002. We were blown out by Poland and only managed to advance because South Korea decided to defeat Portugal.

Then we ousted an old and decrepit Mexico.

This year we will be facing Italy and the Czech Republic in a much tougher bracket...the Czech Republic is rated second internationally, and Italy has much better leagues than we do...the only players on our team that could play in the European leagues at a high level are Donovan, Beasley, and Howard...things are not looking good.

France barely qualified...it's hard for a team to become a favorite if it barely qualified.

I am surprised at the number of votes for The Netherlands...a great team that has shown that they can beat anyone, but they are still young...

True, I believe they were the country with the lowest amount of goals (14 or 16). Mexico was the highest scoring with over 50, cant remember a exact number...
