Hello I am a fan of the vintage akg cans.  Currently I own a K400, and K240 M.  I would like to know which of the AKG headphones you think are worth looking into aside from the K1000 which I cant afford.  Currently I am looking at the K340, K290, K141, and K241.  I wish I could by them all but I have to pick and choose so I thought I would get feedback from those with experience in this area.

The K240 Sextett is definitely well worth looking into. :)

I disagree, a muddy low res mess without any soundstage - AKG goes Portapro.

I quite liked the K401. Sweeeeet mids, but in difference to the 501 with bass worth mentioning.

Yeah, the K141 are very nice headphones - both silver and Monitor versions. I'd go for DF since You've got 240M for comparision (or K340, of course:)

k500 is what i would recommend. k401 is also fun and great-sounding, but much less versatile and subtle. the k500 is one of my favorite cans, whether vintage or not. if you can find one, keep it (and change the pads for k601 pads).

Have you heard a K400?  I have seen on other threads that the K500 and K400 sound very similar.

Yes, I owned one. I liked it, but not as much as the k401 (which is much more fun and has more depth), but it is in no way in the same league as the k500.
