and it must sound great without an amp, I also dont care if theyre closed or open.

Basically I want to use them with my Digital Piano, Ipod, and Laptop for movies and music

I just picked up a pair of HFI-2200's from the FS forum for cheap and i think they sound quite nice unamped. But they really do sing when they have some power behind em

There's a promotion on the Ultrasone website, $150 for the HFI-680 and free shipping. They're more sensitive than the 780 and definitely much more sensitive than the HFI-2200, people have said the 780 should be amped and I know the HFI-2200 sounds lethargic and weak straight out of an mp3 player. I'd say 680 or the new Zino is your best bet.

Would you mind elaborating? I'm not an Ultrasone booster looking to pick a fight, I just want to know your thoughts. Thanks.

So Ive narrowed it down to 4 possible candiadates the HFI680(if i can get them for 150) HFI550(I can get them for 95) or HFI700( Can get them for 130) and finally HFI2200 ( around 100)

Does anyone have any comments on which would be best for my needs listed above?

btw: If anyone has on of these models theyre willing to sell pm me, I also have a set Sennheiser HD555s. with box I could trade or pm me if you want to buy them from me
