Which piece of equipment in your portable setup costed the most?

PSP was $250 when I bought it a couple years back. At the time I bought it I didn't think I would now be using it for music. I don't really play games on it.

I don't know if that counts because it wasn't intentional, so I guess it would be q40 $130 where as the PA2v2 cost $60

very close call between my lisa III and what I guess would be classified interconnects. lisa III $600USD or $925USD with PSU; so if you dont count my LLP my Teflon VCAP dock plus IC's would be considerably more expensive (in parts alone as that is all it cost me plus time) headphones are also close to second when you add the UM56. call me silly, but at least I know if I hear a problem its not the IC's

Uhh, my UE-11s obviously, $1600-1700 with customs to Sweden.

It is my belief that you should spend the most on the transducers, and so I did, and I don't regret it for one second!

iPod Touch 8GB - 160$
Etymotic ER4P - 115$

Everything a man needs for a portable setup.

The problem is, that we also go for what we want, and not just what we need.

On those lines, why does every women need?

That's true, I'd probably have a pair of UE11 otherwise. Still, in the non-customs territory, I've tried a bunch of portable amps and most of the top universal IEMs and nothing satisfies me most than the iPod/ER4P setup. It's the perfect blend of SQ and convenience IMO.

I buy almost all my stuff used. I won't count the iPhone 2G that cost a small fortune, as it was purchased as a phone/toy. I actually use my iPod 4G more as a source, so in decreasing order of cost:
Pico with DAC
iPod 4G 30 gig, back when I bought it, just about tied with my Pico
Shure SE530
Ultrasone 750's (ok, barely portable here!)

When i am bored of music..i take out my Xperia X1 and start watching hi def movies and tv shows.

so that is my most expensive equipment in portable setup.

otherwise this is my chain:

Sennheiser IE7>iBasso D2 Boa>Silver Bendy IC>iPod 5.5G 30 GB.
