Which Music Genre do you NOT believe in?

Interesting question, but lame thought processes to think any style of music lacks integrity enhanced and more appreciable with audiophile gear :| I enjoy the increased performance of everything I listen to

I can't fathom why blues & r&b are paired up.

I mean yeah they're the same thing if you're playing rhythm guitar, but that doesn't mean they're the same thing.

I sorta like the blues.

Pop R&B should be abolished. So. Terrible.

Good reproduction of steel guitar. Vocals and acoustic instruments are important, too. Assuming we're talking about bluegrass, classic country and alt.country. Headphones that do well with this tend to overlap with good jazz headphones.

The newer/mainstream country with lots of electronic instruments, studio processing, compression, etc. etc. are better suited for rock headphones. Not that I listen to much of it. A few artists are good but the rest do little for me.

As for the OP, I voted for rap/hip hop. I've made an effort to appreciate it over the years and just can't.

Check out Deltron 3030. It's hip hop album about epic sci-fi battles in the future for the greatest MC in the universe! It's awesome!

Edit: LINKS!

Watch this, and afterwords tell me you don't like any hip hop. It's impossible not to like this, IMHO.

YouTube - 3030

Another one:

YouTube - Deltron 3030 - Mastermind

Ignore the video, it's a remixed gorillaz video, which is stupid. Listen to the track though.

Techo is music? I thought it was electrical shocks to be combined with Bolivian marching power and consumed only at discos.

What about electronica and dance? Berlin School electronica and dance - they're barely from the same planet!

The genres I listen to most are not in the list - bluegrass and metal. Oh well, good thing that's not what the poll was about... I checked rap and pop.

I think that contrary to good music, stuff like rap actually sounds better on crappy equipment, so that got my main vote. The stuff I don't listen to got my other votes.

On a side note, while I despise country and think it should be outlawed, it actually does sound better on some equipment. Only the instruments though.

I'm not sure I understand the question, so I'm guess that you've asked what types of music do we believe don't do well with headphones. If that's it, I don't see why any genres need to be excluded if you like them. Poorly recorded music of any genre can sound crappy, but even that can be enjoyable if you're into the song.

I cannot tolerate rap and pop in any form. I detest those genres. Country actually seems like an acceptable genre compared to rap and pop, but I still don't like it. As for trance/electronic... I'm afraid I just don't understand those genres: they're more like interesting sounds than music to me.
