reading things in this site got me interested in a cmoy amp, so my initial reflex is to look around ebay for such products.
 
i know shiet about the technical aspects of things so i need everyone's wisdom to help me out.
 
upon my lurking i found three cmoy's on ebay:

i'm leaning towards option 1 because it's the least expensive and im pretty much a cheap person.  but based on what y'all are seeing, what's the best sounding of the three options?
 
chances are i don't need a cmoy because i currently own this earphone:

surprisingly they sound good, but then again anything sounds good compared to the stock apple ipod earphones, i have a 5th gen ipod video btw.
 
i'm also thinking about purchasing a nicer set of headphones in the near future, the one's on my hit list are the akg k514, shure srh440, grado sr60i and the alessandro's ms1i.
 
so will having a cmoy benefit those headphones?  i haven't heard any of the headphones but i'm wanting the ms1i or the sr60i, because they look fantasculiar.  i'm hoping their nice looks will get me some brownie points with the gals.

I really don't think you can benefit much from an external amp.  Your headphones should be fine without an amp.  For high impedance headphones, you would want to consider amping.

Popular CMOYs seem to be those by biosciencegeek and three3three3 (jdslabs). They are touted as being of high quality, in both sound and build quality.

high_iq, if i decide to buy any of these: akg k514, shure srh440, grado sr60i or the alessandro ms1i, i don't really need an amp if i listen from my ipod?
 
or was that comment only relating to my sony earphones?
 
for the cmoy's from biosciencegeek and jdslabs, is one better from the other, or it basically comes down to preference?

They all seem to be low impedance headphones.   I don't see much improvement from ampingunless you need very high volume.   For the Sony, amping is overkill.
