where to buy mint boards?

Yes they are and they're a very high quality board. $5 is very reasonable. Just go ahead and add a Pimeta or a PPA board to your order to make up for the small order handling charge... you know you're going to need it

I was actually thinking more of a Mint-like topology rather than a straight rip of the layout, especially since home-etching without plated holes is going to require wider traces for good results. Even so, it's definitely not the first project I'd recommend for a beginning home-etcher but given some patience and either careful taping of patterns or pre-drilling reference holes to line it up, double-sided is doable.
