Where is a decent place to buy headphones in Canada?

Any other Canadians notice that prices for headphones up here seem to be WAY more than the exchange rate? For example, the headphones Head-Fi loves to hate, the Sony MDR-v300, purportedly have a 'street price' of ~$30 in the US. Here, they're $70!
Other headphones are the same way, and shipping from the few outlets that ship to Canada tends to make things cost just as much...

What's more is even the headphone tends to be bad.

So if there's a good place to buy headphones in Canada- preferably around the Calgary area, but really anywhere- with good prices and/or variety, I'd be extremely grateful.

Yea I bought my first pair of decent headphones at K&W down on 17th.
A pair of SR60s and I paid out of my ass for them.
This was before I really was into head-fi, and wasn't too sure what was happening.

So for Grado cans the choice obviously becomes Alessandro with the free shipping (You could probably go down to K&W so you can get a feel for the Grados)

As for other things I'm pretty sure just ordering from the States is the only feasible option, shipping shouldn't be more than $15. Probably look at Todd the Vinyl Junkie, I ordered some things from him and everything worked out peachy.

it'd be better to keep the suggested stores within canada, reasons:

1) avoid brokerage fees
2) avoid exchange rate losses
3) avoid higher chipping charges
4) warranty claims, and returns.

in fact, im also intersted to know where in canada is the best place to buy audiophile sutff, not just headphones. the only place that i know of is takefiveaudio.com, was told by another forumer

And what's eating Grado?
Even some websites aren't selling Grado phones to certain countries.

"Note to International Customers: Grado Labs has asked us to respect their distributor and dealer territories and decline all orders from these countries. We don't like it one bit, but we will comply with this policy and restrict shipments to the countries mentioned. Please address all dealer location requests, policy complaints, and infraction reports to: info@gradolabs.com"

Guess what country is listed on the top?

Blame it on your socialist government...
