I am trying to decide between the JDS cmoyBB and the Zigis ABB CMoy.
They are the same price

I would go for JDS, at least you're sure which opamps are used.

If it is my choice, I'll go LM4562 > OPA2227 > OPA2134. However, these opamp are not expensive at all. You can get them for a few bucks and swap it yourself.

  What is the difference?
IS there actually a change in sound?
I saw they are like $3-$6 each dep on where you get em.

Opamp can be different in voltage swing, output current, output impedance, capacitance load capability, noise etc - so yes, they can sound different. OPA2227 is the usual choice for cmoy these days, but it used to be OPA2134, which is what the original cmoy is designed upon. However, any opamp that can run lower than +/-4.5V can be put into a cmoy. Whether it will sound good is another matter, and that is usually where people stand to debate which is better. Personal preference also play apart.

Are these opamps easily changed?
I would love to hear differences and pick the one that suits my hp and/or my tastes.
If they dont require serious mods to get in and out I might buy a few different ones.
There is one from a Chinese guy on eBay that comes with 4 different ones.

I just had a custom 18v CMOY Altoids amp assembled for me by Tom Askew (Askewlabs) in the UK, his amps are up on ebay. I gave him a free hand at upgrading his standard 9v Altoids amp, and had him toss in some of his favorite price is no object op amps, but I see he now is offering a standard 18v Altoids amp for only a couple of dollars more than his standard 9v amp, good deal, but I'm so glad I had him do the upgrades.

I'm powering a pair of Beyerdynamic DT-880 Pros (300 ohm) with it. Silent and powerful, nice improvement in airiness and definition from the 9v version I first bought from him.
