i agree with a couple of the previous posters concerning terminology.
the source is the point at which an analog signal is output.
computers using the headphone out are sources.
with a dac, it becomes a transport.

having said that, a computer is my transport of choice ["source" in the spirit of this thread].

A shame you can only vote for one item as I'd have voted for everything but the computer (which might show me up as old fashioned considering how the computer as source seems to be the most popular in the results at the moment!)
