I teach in schools in Japan. Kids are encouraged to regularly wash their hands, and there are long sinks with half a dozen or more taps in all the classroom corridors for this purpose.
I have hand sanitiser in the car, and in my house (I teach at home as well). I also keep those little hand sanitiser bottles you get from airlines in my bag so I can use them as required. I don't get sick often.
