Hey fellas,
 
I have never bought expensive earphones before.  I am currently using the white apple earphones or the jvc marshmallows.  I have a decent ICE system and now I want some decent IEMs.  Here's what I'm looking at shure 215 and image s4.  I like to listen to a wide variety of music from trance, hip hop, rap, rock...  What other IEMs are out there in my price range that I should consider?

Brainwavz M3...I like them better than both the 215 and the S4.  A more well rounded earphone @ $90.

For your slightly bass heavier needs I would actually say either Brainwavz M3 or SE215, the RE0 might not to be your type of IEM.

Depends on your interpretation of "best". In my opinion the most transparent and accurate are the RE Zero's (RE0's especially thrive when amped, higher Impedance than the Zero's). The funnest are Fischer Eterna's, which almost invariably gets you tapping, and at $59 are an extroadinary value in my opinion.

But I do like the 215 a lot more than the S4 for what it's worth lol
