what's the best deal u ever had

I've had a few good deals:

Sony MDR-V500: Retail $100; got them for $20 (Had to glue right ear back due to bad design [owners of these will know what I mean.]) Also, if anyone knows, how do you open these to get at the drivers?
AKG K130: Retail $80?; got them for doing some work for a neighbour.
Koss QZ99: Retail unknown; traded for other headphones I got for free, all I had to do was swap out the (dead) potentiometer.
Sennheiser HD545: Retail unknown; My boss no longer needed them, so they became mine!

Needless to say, upon receiving and listening to the HD545s there was much celebrating on my part, as I had never experienced actually good sound quality before (especially for such a cheap price, hehe!) I'm currently wondering if an amp is a worthwhile investment (most likely something like a PA2V2)

I haven't had a lot of great deals. A few good deals though, like SR-125 for 100 with extra pads. My 880's I got for 200 and my 501's for 120, so I'd say that's pretty good.

$4 CAD for a pair of Labtec Elite-840's after MIR.
Otherwise nothing really significant.

I bought a pair of DT990's from a guy on Audiogon for $75, but when he was packing them he noticed that the ear pads had started to decay and flake off due to age. So he refunded $45 of the purchase price via PayPal before even telling me about it, and then said that if I wasn't happy with them to keep them anyway and he would send back the remaining $30. Of course I kept them and tried to send back the $45 but he refused to take it. Best $30 I've ever spent! Some of the people you bump into in the audio hobby are amazingly selfless. Sure, it was a small dollar transaction. But still, the gesture was remarkable.
