cool, the 7n7 and 6414 both were a nice well rounded sound in mine. The punch was just a little lacking compared to the higher gain tubes.

Thanks...Forgot about the 7N7 & 7AF7. Great, old school, economical tubes. Have not used them in a while...

By suggestion of another member, I am going to try some different tubes and see if things get better or worse all-around. I'll report my findings when I can get some head time.

Good stuff. You can't go wrong with Sylvanias. They can be found cheap and sound great. I'm a fan of the rebranded Sylvanias too.

Sylvania is definitely the bargain brand of NOS tubes, overall - usually great tubes, and usually cheaper than Tung-Sol or RCA. Sometimes both cheaper and better

Love the Brimar 6SN7GT, mellow w/ an expansive soundstage. Nice deep presentation w/ a very musical presentation.
